MemberCar is the brainchild of our owner David Waghelstein. As an auto wholesaler, David had amassed a long list of trustworthy, talented and well-priced vendors specializing in every aspect of auto care. In 2009, he decided to share that list with a select few: members of an elite group. MemberCar was born.
The concept behind MemberCar is at once complicated and simple. Our simple goal is to help change your automotive ownership experience from a walk down the plank to a walk in the park. Simple, right? Except we all know that car ownership is a widely varied and complicated thing. That's why we shine.

Our automotive team consists of a comprehensive network capable of servicing all makes, all years - Fords to Ferraris; we can work on them all.
MemberCar Members can feel confident they are getting the highest quality auto-repair through MemberCar's select network of pre-qualified auto repair professionals. For over 20 years, MemberCar has maintained a strong relationship with an affiliated automotive brokerage company.
This auto brokerage company continues to deliver high-quality workmanship at competitive rates, with no hidden charges, and they perform and charge for only those services that the vehicle actually needs. We've always been suspicious that our dealer was charging too much, and having us pay for unnecessary work.

MemberCar Members can choose from a full range of interior and exterior auto detailing services. In addition to quality car detailing services at our automotive facility in Rockville, consider scheduling our detail crew at your Maryland office location. Our auto detailing professionals conveniently supply their own water and electricity to perform quick, hassle free detailing for you and your employees!
Contrary to popular belief, many bumper and paint repairs do NOT need to be performed at a body shop! Our MemberCar professional crews can repair and paint most car panels at our facility for a fraction of what body shops charge. Even better, since our repairs are usually done in a day, our Members experience less downtime and inconvenience.
Arrgghh - how many times have you returned to your car or truck in a parking lot or garage only to find you've been "dinged?" MemberCar can repair most cosmetic auto issues that people often will take to a body or specialty shop at significant expense. Why are we so much less money? We avoid a repaint when it is not necessary.

I had nothing short of a good experience here. They worked with my budget and didn’t add any pressure to me buying it. I also felt like they had the best prices in the area considering the high market value currently. Anthony made the process easy and comfortable. Anthony was friendly from the start and did not hover me while I looked around. He changed my outlook on dealerships.

I would be somewhat cautious doing business here. I found a car I liked which was purchased from Auction. It fit the mileage and price and with inventory being low I was pleased with the car. The carfax report was clean. As far as the staff and ownership go though buyer beware. They promise things with virtually no follow up at all. Might be low stress and friendly initially but if you need anything after your purchase they will actually just not respond to you. If you want a professional buying experience I would suggest a dealer or Carmax (at least you have some recourse if something goes

The whole team at Member Car are so wonderful! Such personal care with their clients, I couldn't be happier. They had a custom 1994 F350 for sale and helped me purchase this truck for my landscape business. They made the process super easy and worked with me from start to finish. Will certainly be working with them on future truck needs. Thanks Member Car!

I highly recommend shopping at Member Car! I shopped around for a car for about a month and it was exhausting. After I found Member Car online, I left with a car the same day! Their prices are very reasonable, and the staff is very relaxed and doesn’t pressure you. I worked with Maddie who was great! She was very personable and made the process super easy! :)

I purchased a vehicle from MemberCar on 2/25/20 with GAP insurance coverage for which I paid $800 for. I sold the vehicle on 1/25/2021 and contacted MemberCar on 5/25/2021 and requested a GAP cancellation form which I filled out and returned with all requested documentation on 5/26/2021. Since that time I have not received my GAP refund and I have called several times and each time I call I am told that they will look into it and get back to me. As of 9/28/2021 I have received no refund and no contact from MemberCar regarding my refund for the cancelled GAP insurance.

I live two states away and saw a car I liked listed, but wanted to get a better feel of the condition before making the trip. Maddie sent me additional pictures and videos and that solidified my decision to drive 260 miles.
The car was phenomenal and Maddie did all of the legwork as quickly as humanly possible to help me get on my way. Her car and finance knowledge was awesome and I would highly recommend reaching out to her if you find a car you like. No frills and no nonsense. A great experience and the fiancée was ecstatic about her new ride.

I was contacted by the owner David about a inquiry I sent by email for one of his vehicles. During our conversation on the phone I asked him if he had any trucks or SUVS around 10 thousand or under 10 thousand. And he said yes I actually just got a nice trade in! It's a 2004 Suburban very nice it's just about to finish up it's Maryland state inspection. So I asked how much? He replied back 6 thousand. I said I'm very interested and would like to come by to check it out! He bragged about how his dealer is the only dealer in the county with these type of older cars and trucks

The car buying process was smooth. When I left in my new car I had no idea that things would go downhill so quickly. While there, they told me that Carfax was "down" and they would send me the paperwork right away. I had to make several calls over the next few days to follow up and actually get a copy of the information. The first one they sent me was for the wrong car, but eventually they got it right. Next up, tag drama. I live out of state and my VA tags were sent to Membercar. I was sent an e-mail to let me know they were in. Because I am a teacher (and the dealership is closed

I knew I was in trouble when I saw the ramshackle office building. I had scheduled a test drive & went all the way there only to be told that the front & rear bumper of the car I came to see were being repainted. Ok, first: Why did you not disclose the damage you were repairing when I asked about it? Second: Why did you schedule an appointment for a test drive with a car in the paint booth? Feel like a dodged a bullet on this one.

Jordan was very helpful in understanding what I was looking for. Very upbeat and professional. Test drove anAudi, disappointed in roominess inside, very smooth ride for 4 cyl. A (silver) Lexus piqued my interest, printed out the car fax~but ended up getting a CASCada elsewhere. They had a nice selection, and no sales pressure. Just pay attention to directions- GPS off Gude has you make a right, when actually you need to make a left and look for signs.

Here's a cautionary tale. About 20 minutes after they encouraged a 5-star review while I was still in their office, in which I wrote, "Great experience. Super car. John was great. Highly recommend it!", I drove my long-coveted 2004 Audi Avante to the Shell station about 100 yds away to fill up for my trip back to Virginia. When I restarted the car, the check engine appeared, so I returned to their office. When asked, the head mechanic said he knew exactly what it was, a communication module linked to the camshaft sensor. He said he hadn't had success getting the part in.

I just want to thank both John and Anthony for all of their help on making my son's first car buying experience a pleasure. We had been car shopping for 3 weeks, driving to far destinations to see cars only to find lemons once we go there. I was at my breaking point by the time I called MemberCars. That's when I spoke to John and told him my frustrations, he patiently took the time to tell me all about the car before I took the hour drive to Rockville. He even walked me through the Carfax!! That was a first! John asked me to wait until the weekend to come out but we were so excited we

Please stay away from MemberCar. They are very dishonest and have no integrity. We found a luxury car on their website. We agreed on a price. We were paying cash. Initially they were so friendly. I checked reviews on the internet, most were good so I figured the dealer was honest. We were assured that the car was in excellent condition, and it had all of the scheduled maintenance completed. They agreed to let us take it to a mechanic to be inspected. As we were leaving to take the car to a mechanic, the owner, David Waghelstein, out of the blue, asked my husband for a deposit of $1,000

Truly a great car-buying experience. After going to several dealerships in the area, I finally found the car I wanted at Membercar (online). I had never heard of the company before, but decided to go and check it out. I was really impressed with the selection of cars they had - I think there were 150 in lot if I can recall correctly! They had everything from 4-door sedans, to SUVs/Crossovers and even some luxury vehicles. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, despite it being a very busy day.
I dealt with Carlos who was a joy. He was polite, funny, calm, and honest throughout the whole

I had intended to give Membercar a good review right after I bought my Volvo XC70 Ocean Race, but they missed a bunch of problems that should have been caught. They brag about how carefully cars are gone over and that they pass a rigorous Maryland state inspection. Now to be balanced, the engine and transmission were fine. However, the radiator system had two major defects: a bad thermostat (which on a Volvo is no small repair) and the heater core was clogged (and probably had never been back flushed). There were also small issues with the headlights, windshield washer sprayers, and wheel lug

I feel TOTALLY set up by MemberCar. I purchased a 2001 Dodge Durango less than 30 days ago for $3700 and have literally had problems since 2 HOURS after pulling it off the lot. The car was supposedly "sitting for 2 weeks" and had to have the battery jumped when I test drove it. It drove okay and I needed a vehicle to fit my large family of 6 so I agreed to the purchase. I was stranded 2 hours later. The next day, the check engine light came on when they sent someone to fit what was thought to be a key issue. I was stranded again the next night. The engine would not even turn over. I got

We bought a VERY clean used car from MemberCar over the weekend - took it to the dealership today for a mechanic's inspection and everything was GREAT! We worked with John, who was very nice, funny, there was no pressure and it was a relaxed atmosphere. Once the financing was approved, we were done within 30 minutes - the fastest I've ever seen.
The pricing leaves a bit to be desired - since it's no-haggle, firm, but the car is so clean, that it seems worth it.

I took my truck here for a check engine light issue recently. Erin, John and Blenny were super helpful and got it looked at and taken care of the same day. I'm so happy my problem is fixed. If you need any repairs for your vehicle, I highly recommend Member Car Services. Unlike many auto shops I've been to, they go above and beyond to help you out without putting a huge hole in your pockets, the prices are very reasonable :)

We purchased a Rav4 Thanksgiving weekend 2015. Overall we had a good experience working with John and Justin. We will probably purchase a car from them in the future.
I deducted a star because they seemed to be a bit disorganized when it comes to communication between the Sales and Maintenance, which is confusing since it seems like a smaller dealer.
One of the "We Owes" was for them to look at the head lights because it was slightly cracked, but enough such that water could come in and make the head light "foggy" from condensation. This somehow passed inspection, but we did
