Visited Mission Inn for a special occasion and used valet. When it was time to retrieve my car, they couldn't find it. They had me follow an employee around the parking lot for 40 min trying to find my own car! The staff was very indifferent to this issue. They had me go back to the valet area and wait 20 more minutes in the cold and dark. I never received an explanation. I called the general manager and he passed the buck and had security call me. The gentleman apologized as well as he could. But I'll be going elsewhere for occasions and spa now.

We booked a room to celebrate our anniversary. It was supposed to be ready by 4 and when we arrived close to 5 it still wasn't ready. The entire lobby was filled with people who were waiting for a room so there were no seats or space to wait. When we finally got a room and went to the floor, we were greeted by a bucket of water from the ceiling leaking. Later on in our room the ceiling started leaking and we were unable to get another room since several people were displaced for this issue. Some with water leaking on their bed. The next day we ventured out around the area and when we came back

Good luck getting anyone from the reservation line to answer the phone. When you leave a message, dont worry, nobody will call you back. How is anyone supposed to get a reservation? Or cancel if needed? This place has the worst customer service of any hotel I have ever seen. There is no hospitality at this hotel. Yes its beautiful but go somewhere else, anywhere else where they will actually answer the phone, or return your call. I am so frustrated!!!

Such a beautiful place to visit and stay at. We reserved a Mission room and it was very roomy inside. The bed sheets were soft, the mattress was comfortable, the whole room was very clean. If you enjoy the sounds of train horns and car alarms all night long, you'll sleep like a baby.
We ordered room service because the locals restaurants closed very early. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the curry chicken. The cesar salad left a lot to be desired. We can't wait to find an excuse to stay here again!! :D

I enjoy going to Downtown Riverside, it is nice place to walk around if you stay at the Mission Inn. They have small restaurants and coffee shops nearby. There is a cute antique shop across the street.

Just took a tour. Fascinating place with quite a past interwoven with the history of Riverside. It's actually quite amazing that it's in as good shape as it is considering all the changing hands and bad ideas that have gone on to try and make it a commercial success in the past. The tour was great and exhaustive, but left me wanting to see much more.

I had a great experience at the hotel.
Only issue was made reservations for the Mission Inn Restaurant but waited an 30 minutes and they still didn't have room. We had to eat off site. Make sure you make reservations weeks in advance before you stay there.

We booked 2 nights for our 1st wedding anniversary during Festival of Lights. So many architectural things to see and lots of walk through areas! The hotel is huge that I don't think we covered every knick. And even though you had to practically reserve everything, there's still lots of options outside of hotel to dine in at. Definitely worth to stay at least once in your lifetime. My son loved the view and the many wonderful things that this side of riverside has to offer.

This has been our tradition for the past 10 years to come see the festival of lights. Spend the night in one of their beautifully appointed Spanish rooms.

Kelly Robert's the owner, has a new spa line of of toiletries in each room. Called- Pallas. Soft and silky to the skin the shower gels, body lotions and detoxification products are gorgeous feeling to your skin. We picked up a few items as gifts from their beautiful gift store.
This year was a little different. We were told because of Covid they really only had less than half of the lights that they normally do... ( in the past they

No lights we didn’t pay for no lights.Bowing down to a political pandemic is a joke, lights bring joy and memories not covid. 25 minutes standing in line to check in while rude people kept cutting line to ask questions and worker entertained their questions, no manager present.
Host at Duanes said they were full for Xmas eve and Xmas evening dinner then we went online and got a dinner reservation. Lady at Mexican food restaurant said reservations only even though there were three empty tables one dirty for at least 20 minutes stop hiring robots. Completely ruined our Christmas this year. Oh

Due to the Covid Omicron variant exploding, we attempted to change our reservation to next year, honoring the no refund policy for the hotel, and keeping the health of our party safe, some of us have health issues that make getting Covid pretty serious. I called all day starting at 8 AM until 10 PM. No answer at the reservation desk, only sent to vm over and over. Reservation manager was the same, multiple attempts, messages left on vm and two emails. No response from either entity by phone or email.

I started again at 7 AM next day. No response. Read reviews here telling same story of

This place never ceases to amaze me. The property is well maintained and you feel safe strolling inside and outside of the facility.
If you’re in the area during Christmas time, it’s worth stopping by to spend an hour strolling around to see the decorations and lights. The lights will be up until January 6,2022.
There is valet available for your vehicle or street parking is available (free after 5 pm on weekdays, free on weekends).
In the future I’d love to spend a couple of nights to get a full experience here.

I love the Mission Inn! The Spanish architecture and the atmosphere have been the setting of some very special life experiences and celebrations! From graduation dinners to anniversaries, a nice glass of wine and a perfectly cooked steak at the Mission Inn Restaurant located inside this historic hotel have been the perfect way to form memories. I recommend going here during the winter season to enjoy the award winning Festival of Lights!

Jr Suite was fine. Nothing special for the price. Mainly, we had problems with the rooms plumbing. We told the front desk there was no hot water in the shower. They promised to send up an engineer while we were at dinner. The next morning, no hot water in the shower. They never sent anyone up, never bothered to follow up, etc. in the morning, they sent someone who confirmed there was a problem, but it was too late to resolve, hence no showers for us.
Problems are inevitable. How management handles those issues tells you about their priorities. The poor support from the front desk, In addition

First thing would be if you are a light sleeper at all, avoid this hotel. Insanely loud. Walls are paper thin so you can literally hear everyone down in the lobby, in the hallways, and the hotel also thinks it's appropriate to have a live band playing until 11pm. My husband and I made the mistake of staying here with our 6 month old daughter and we were basically up for two nights since she could not sleep due to the noise.

Second, is that it is overpriced. I understand the history, however, the rooms need an upgrade for what you are paying for. No complimentary breakfast or parking which

Let's see where do I begin.... Went here for breakfast and sat outside, Heater was not turned on to maximum ( I guess they were trying to make the propane lasts until the end of the year? ).

There was this loud annoying sound which they were trying to fix. That noise was there throughout 90% our breakfast. They didn't even offer a discount - nada - zilch to ease the freakin uncomfortableness mimosa would have been nice.

My steak was over cooked and the poached eggs was meh.

The only thing good was the decorations.

The Mission Inn was disappointing Won't be coming

We bought the Festival of Lights Package this year and stayed one night to view the famous lights display but we were a bit disappointed. Not as many lights or figures as years past and many lights weren't working. I asked about it at the front desk and was told they scaled back this year. Bummer. Wish we would have known.

Back for our third time and it's just as beautiful and wonderful. From Valet to check-in, every employee was friendly and attentive. The curtains in our room were broke and did not close all the way, but that was a minor issue. Nice to see that the property is constantly maintained.

Historic hotel and therefore famous. Expensive for a single king room.

It's a very old hotel that has been kept very well. The walls are thin though so you can hear everything including the people eating below in the courtyard.

In the morning I ran out of hot water after showering for 10minutes. I thought that was weird.

The reason for the four stars is because it is a lovely hotel. Despite being incredibly over priced I saw the history abs couldn't rate it any lower.

I was here during the lights. It was beautiful.

The suites are located on the top floors and in a different

Came for festival of lights and yes its pretty but my upgraded room fell short for the cost. The building outside & lobby are gorgeous but i came to a room which later discovered had a wet carpet of coffee, bed wasnt comfortable, and the cup of wine left outside near my door entrance( which we never put there) stayed the whole time during my stay. This is NOT a 3 diamond resort, and the care this mgmt gives the outside of this place should focus on service & cleanliness!! To top things off as i checked out & told the m of the issues the non chalant- unapologetic

My favorite hotel above all the rest. A class act with superior staff. Historical and beautiful. Wonderful food in their restaurants. Romantic to stroll thru. Comfortable bar to relax in. And great pool for the kids. It's set in a neat plaza with lots of great boutiques and antiques to browse. No negatives here for me.

I am reviewing the hotel for their High Tea and Tour. I loved both! The tea experience was classy and I felt fabulous dressing up with friends and sipping on tea/champagne and little sandwiches. The tour of the building was phenomenal. This place has such an interesting history and amazing architecture to compliment its story. I highly recommend coming here while you are in Riverside or for a short weekend away from wherever you live near by.

I was in Riverside on business in November and was staying only a few blocks from The Mission Inn Restaurant. I had seen it on during an early morning run and decided to go for dinner. It was amazing. From the moment I was seated by the lovely hostess Emma. She was incredible and was very sweet and accommodating. She was able to get me and friend the best table at the restaurant and seem to genuinely care. Several times she came to our table just to make sure everything was okay which I'm sure was over and above her job description. Emma was five star all the way. They are lucky to have her. The

I do not appreciate the way management is treating its customers. For the price of the stay, it truly is disgraceful.

To start, we had saved for the room and bought extras with it. Within a couple hours of checking into the room, the pipe burst and the bathroom started to flood. Maintenance quickly came in, and started to knock out the wall and get it handled. We were told we had to switch rooms (understandably) and to wait for help with that. We waited for someone to come help us with the room, as we were told to do, but no help came. We had to find bathrooms elsewhere while waiting, and ultimately

DISGUSTING. OVERPRICED. MOLDY.

First let me say how excited I was to stay here. We checked in and are immediately told our DELUXE QUEEN ROOM is "very small for two people" and we should upgrade for $150. I replied "it must be pretty bad if you are upselling me before you even properly greet me". We politely declined the offer and went up to our room. The DELUXE QUEEN ROOM had a view of a cement wall and the bathroom was covered in mold. We were only there a night so we shook it off and went down to the pool. THE POOL WAS DISGUSTING. Messier then a college dorm room. Old food

For the longest time I wanted to stay in one of the guest rooms here. It took coming home from a HI vacation to stop by for a night before driving back to Las Vegas.

This place is just as beautiful as I remembered and envisioned it, and to be able to finally be a guest in one of the gorgeous rooms, had me in all sorts of feels! Made my guy have some feels too because he let his romantic self come out lol.

Overall, this place has up-kept the Mission Inn pretty well. From the buildings, gardens, grounds, furniture and decor, everything looks immaculate and taken cared of. I was afraid that it
