Nice boat ride. Can sight see up top or stay in air conditioning below. Peaceful and beautiful. It leaves island exactly every hour so if you're running at it waiving your hands screaming 'stop!'....they will not because they're prompt and you will sit on a bench for 50 minutes yelling at the kids for petting horses

Disappointed that the tour was cancelled. We booked the May 20 Sand Dollar Island tour on April 30. Since this tour was the one variable we couldn't control we scheduled our week at the coast around this event. After the remainder of the week had been scheduled (hotels, travel, etc.) we got a call on May 16 informing us the trip had been cancelled due to staffing issues. This was too late to reschedule our vacation time. Staffing should have been in place before any tour was offered or booked. We will reschedule a tour to Sand Dollar Island in the future, but it will NOT be with Morehead City Ferry

Took the family out and ferry should have never went.. it was very windy, the ride there and back the engine was running hot, was worried we werent gonna make it back. it werent a Tour ..it was more of a drop and go.. they drop you off on the island.. dont explain how to find the sand dollars or show you.. (sorry but kinda thought they would) we… had never been on the "Tour" before, we were told we could bring a wagon, well noone told us that we would have to lift a heavy wagon up and down flimsy, scary steps, had we known we would have carried everything but with a family of 5 its hard

We had a blast on this trip. We had to opportunity to visit Sand Dallar island. It was a 2 hour trip costing 15 dollars per person. The ferry took you to the island which is about a 20 to 25 min ride round trip. They dropped you off so you could lounge, swim or look for Sand dollars . The crew was informative and give us a list of areas to avoid and where they would return to pick us up. Is was surreal being out there and looking at the vast ocean around us.
