K2 Sports Therapy
Sports rehabilitation for ACL, elbow and shoulder surgeries are a cornerstone of physical therapy. Our Sports therapists will speed your road to recovery. The sports physical therapists at K2 Sports physical therapy come from a diverse athletic background. We know what it takes to return to play at all levels.

Our physical therapists utilize the most current treatments such as dry needling, manual release skills and advanced training techniques inside our state-of-the-art facility. We are able to get our clients performing at their best, as quickly and as safely as possible. Whether you are school-aged, elite athlete, middle aged or a senior just trying to stay active, we provide physical therapy for all ages.
Services
K2 Sports Therapy is a Physical Therapy clinic serving the Mooresville, NC and the Lake Norman area. Our sports physical therapists provide the most up-to-date treatments including dry needling, sports therapy, manual therapy, as well as many specialties such as TMJ and Headaches, orthopedic rehabilitation and sports performance.
There is no substitute for the hands on care that is delivered by an in person physical therapy session. However exercise and exercise progression is an important part of physical therapy. Having your movement analyzed and exercise progressed by the supervision of a licensed physical or sports physical therapist can help speed your recovery while minimizing the risk of injury by adding the wrong exercise.
The temporomandibular joint is one of the most complex joints in your body. Pain, spasm and headaches associated with TMJ dysfunction can be devastating. As a physical therapist my goal is to reduce spasm, improve posture and eliminate the headaches associated with TMD. Over 90% of my patients notice an improvement within a few days.
Over training and injury activates trigger points and spasm that limits mobility and performance. Dry needling uses your bodies own reflexes to eliminate trigger points, improve circulation and maximize performance. Dry Needling is a technique that reduces muscle spasm and pain.

Dry Needling directs a small microfilament needle (also used in acupuncture) into active trigger points, thus reducing muscle tension, pain/spasm and helping to restore mobility. This is an effective technique for both acute and chronic conditions. Trigger points are tight bands of muscle fibers that occur naturally after an injury or as a result of over training.
Physical therapy uses hands-on techniques combined with exercise to restore mobility, motion and maximize function. From school-aged to seniors, our clients get the care they need to perform at their fullest potential. Following your thorough evaluation we are able to identify areas to be improved and have the skills to restore function as quickly and safely as possible.

Kevin, Trish and the rest of the K2 team are effective!
I'd had low back pain and sciatic issues, that grew increasingly worse for months. I'm almost 50 but finally went to a doctor after it became impossible to sit, stand or transition without severe pain and feeling like I was 80.
Started with Kevin at K2 on Nov 18. With PT and Dry Needling, by Nov 27, I was able to vacuum several bags of leaves in my yard & the next day, painted a room with no pain.
Thanks to the K2 team, I'll be back on the hiking trails this weekend! I cannot give them enough stars or likes or loves!

Kevin Kucko and his team are incredible! My 10 year old granddaughter severed her ACL and tore her meniscus and had many complications post op causing a lot of problems for her in PT (she was not the most willing participant at times). The K2 team never wavered or lost confidence in her ability to obtain a full recovery. They now all cheer at her accomplishments, big and small (even the administration staff!). We are treated like family, and I trust them to always have my granddaughter’s best interest in all that they do. I am so grateful to have such positive and knowledgeable people like this

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Sabrina, Larissa , Gwen and the entire staff felt like family at the end of of my 6 months of physical therapy! Outstanding service, knowledge, and genuine concern for my well-being helped make my recovery anxiety-free. The staff at the front desk is incredible and so helpful with scheduling and answering any questions you might have. In this age of lackluster service, this place shines above all the rest!

I had been having what seemed like plantar facitis and my podiatrist referred me to K2 to begin physical therapy before a major hiking trip with my family. Every single person I have encountered there has gone above and beyond to be kind, friendly and helpful. They genuinely care about their patients and enjoy their jobs. They love who they work for and what they do! I am grateful to have found them and highly recommend them!

Staff was helpful and professional. Kevin spent an hour working on my tennis elbow. Took time to explain the condition, it’s cause, prevention and maintenance. Top shelf experience all around. Surprisingly affordable as a self pay. Should have done it years earlier.

I didn’t really know what to expect going into PT for the first time after I tore my MCL and I was a little apprehensive but every single person on the K2 team made me feel relaxed, cared for and valued from the minute I walked in the door and throughout my three months of therapy sessions. The level of professionalism and knowledge paired with a welcoming environment made it some thing I looked forward to each week. I am back to 100% thanks to them!! I highly recommend Kevin and this amazing team for any of your therapy needs. They are truly a joy!

In a nutshell, all visits with K2-Sports Therapy and Performance were outstanding. I began a series of physical therapy for right knee pain after a diagnosis of mild osteoarthritis. Most likely, lack of total exercise and muscle strengthening during the pandemic had allowed my knee and surrounding areas to weaken. To stay busy, I had created LOTS of new stay home projects that over exerted my out of shape, 64 year old body. Before I knew it, doing simple squats, standing after sitting a while, rolling over in bed and just going up and down the steps became very painful. On a scale of 1-10 my pain

I had a hamstring strain from overuse while bouldering, my first sports injury. Erin did an excellent job listening to my needs and providing the proper care while keeping me accountable for my stretching. She provided personalized advice to prevent this injury in the future. I can’t recommend K2 enough even for a minor injury, it was worth every penny simply for the knowledge they have to share!

There are some places we go where we know we are going to have a world class experience and for me K2 Sports Therapy is one of them. Yesterday I visited their location for the second time and second issue. Expecting the typical rushed feeling you get when speaking with a health professional I was merely hoping to get a quick diagnosis and to hit the road. Well over an hour, many stretches, many exercises and a thorough conversation later I was on my way. I cannot thank Dr. Adam the team at K2 enough for their work.
P.S. - I don’t know the owner of K2, I don’t have any friends who work there

I’ve worked with Gwen several times with the most recent being recovery from back surgery. She provided a detailed assessment of my strength and mobility, and discussed the rehabilitation plan very clearly. Gwen and Larissa are excellent listeners and pushed me at a great pace, adapting as I’ve progressed. I have made such a big improvement since surgery thanks to the team and am quickly getting back to normal. The entire K2 staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the facilities are top notch.
