We are a family owned remodeling and home building company with 25 years of experience in the Tampa Bay area. Joe has a deep-rooted history in construction that began over 40 years ago. Beginning his career as a laborer in the industry, Joe became proficient at virtually every aspect of construction work, including interior and exterior framing, drywall, metal structures, carpentry, and masonry.
From his hands-on experience, he gained invaluable knowledge of his craft and the quality work he could deliver. Today, DUCS comprises two divisions: A Residential Division and a Commercial Building and HOA Maintenance Division. By listening to and striving to understand our customer's needs. I just finished an extensive and complete renovation of a small 1941 house in a flood zone in Indian Rocks Beach. One contractor told me it simply couldn't be done. Wrong! Down Under Constructio an excellent job on my project. They replaced cast iron sewage pipes in the kitchen and laundry area, replaced galvanized water pipe from the meter and installed water softening system and leveled up the floor in the dining room with the kitchen. They finished an old attached garage which also needed leveled up, insulation, drywall, electrical outlets and lights. Flooring was installed throughout the house. We are so glad to have chosen Down Under Construction to take on our project to knock out an exterior wall and install a four panel sliding door. They made the process very easy, obtaining the permits and they were very flexible on a start date due to a delay in the sliding door. His crew for our project was led by Riccardo, and he was very knowledgeable and was able to easily overcome some challenges. Riccardo and Joe could be easily reached when we had questions and they always had an answer. We are very happy with the end result and enjoy our house even more.

I use Joe Romano for ALL my construction jobs at Down Under Construction because he is simply the best in the business.

Had toilet leaks from Condo unit above more than once & it smelled of urine in my guest bathroom ceiling so the drywall had to come out, the cavity cleaned & disinfected then new drywall installed.
It was textured & painted. No more smell!!!
Could not be happier. Like new!
And Joe got there quickly to repair & finish job.

Used DUCS for my new Kitchen in Bay Island. The whole experience was nothing short of great. Joe Romano is a a stand up guy and delivered on his promise and everything we agreed to. They were always on time and the quality of work they delivered was impeccable. Special shout out to Russ who installed the cabinets. The cabinet order was screwed up by the manufacturer, however Russ was meticulous and made it work with some retro fitting. Also special recognition for Bobby Romano...great guy and a a true sheetrock professional. While I don't know the backsplash guy, he was great also. I don't normally

We hired Dave and his crew to remodel our 35 year old 1800 sq. ft. Condo. Literally, they made this place look like it was just built. They were professional an knowledgeable. We were living in Franklin, TN, so Dave had to handle all of the little details. When we moved in we felt like we were on TV, I was waiting for someone to say "move that bus". We have used DUCS for 3 projects in our 1959 home. They have transformed it from out dated, cramped and dark to the beautiful kitchen, bedroom, bath and laundry room below.
Thanks to the craftsmanship of Johnny and Lawson at DUCS we have a beautiful new kitchen. They removed a wall, built a pantry, installed cabinets and flooring, painting and drywall replacement, installed lighting and appliances. Johnny is a skilled craftsman, the custom woodwork he did is beautiful and just what I asked for. They were a pleasure to have in our home during construction and left the space immaculate each day

First let me start off by saying Down Under does exceptional work. My husband and I were looking to get our kitchen remodeled when we called Joe. We had a large kitchen remodel and knew we wanted professionals to do the job. Joe was able to stay within our budget yet give us everything we needed. Their team of carpenters were professional and polite. Some things popped up during the construction process and Joe and his team were right there to walk us through the process. We hired Down Under Construction Services to do extensive remodeling to our current home. Our experience with this company was excellent. They were timely, honest, and professional and had great insight for the project. This project included our master bedroom, bathroom, kitchen with an island, and family room addition of 450 sqft.
