Women's Counseling Of Nashua
Women continue to face unique challenges in our society. The "mental load of motherhood", a phrase coined by writer Jami Ingledue speaks to the difficulty we face as the default parent and primary decision makers regarding our children's wellbeing. This is made more complicated when as moms we also may have careers and care for aging parents.

Women also often cope with unique medical and psychological issues including postpartum depression, anxiety or difficulty adjusting to parenthood, infertility, pregnancy loss, reproductive-related disorders, and other health issues. Women are more prone to experience feelings of shame, or to develop anxiety and depression, often as a result of these stressors.
Services
I'm so fortunate to have a job that I love. It's an honor to sit with my clients and serve as an active participant in helping them to problem solve around life's challenges. I have witnessed so many of my clients find the courage to heal or work through current life issues or past wounds. As therapists, our own personal struggles often drive our passions and inform our work with clients.
Sometimes psychotherapy is enough to alleviate many symptoms of distress, often when caused by environmental factors like stress, relationship challenges, grief and loss, or major life changes and adjustments. For many, however, there is an underlying genetic / biological process that contributes to, or perpetuates symptoms of depression, anxiety and other disorders.
The adjustment to motherhood is one of the largest adjustments a woman will make in her lifetime. So much time and attention is placed on the pregnancy and birth that much is lost for what comes next. Many new mothers describe feeling that they are "in a fog" the first few months after birth due to the sleep deprivation and keeping up with feedings and baby's other needs.
Perinatal loss, or miscarriage, is a sudden loss of a pregnancy before twenty weeks gestation (after 20 weeks, the loss is considered a stillbirth). Many women and couples find themselves to be completely blindsided by the experience, as often there were no prior issues with the pregnancy or indication of a problem.
Parenting is the hardest job in the world. Children will challenge us in ways we never imagined. Well meaning family members and friends may be quick to dole out unsolicited advice. Others may judge us for various parenting decisions we make. Some moms may be seeking practical solutions to behavioral or other problems.

Despite offering mental health medication management services, you are completely out of luck if you lose your medication or run out while out of town and need an emergency supply during a weekend or holiday. There is no after-hours or back-up contact line if you need to reach someone urgently (...this is a mental health services provider!!). If you do reach someone, they really make sure you know how much of an inconvenience you are.

Very rude responding to people. I would not recommend someone who cannot communicate well via email. This is an example of what they stand for.

Don’t waste your time with this place. You call and immediately get an answering machine. It is impossible to talk to a real person. They lead you on for weeks and then tell you to look somewhere else. Very rude. Wish I could give zero stars.
