With over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Novak has helped many people solve their problems and improve the quality of their lives and their relationships. We strive to provide the best psychological outpatient care in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space to help people change and improve their lives.
Susan J. Novak, PhD is a Clinical Psychologist, licensed by the California Board of Psychology (#PSY22415). Dr. Novak has worked in a wide variety of settings, including treatment programs for domestic violence victims, children's mental health, alcohol and drug treatment, abused children, families of foster children, adult mental health, chronically severely mentally ill adults, sex offenders, and transgender individuals.
The building directory and the door to the suite only lists Dr. Susan Novak. South County Psychological, Inc. does not appear on the directory, as the other professionals in the suite are not affiliated with the corporation. On Rockfield, turn at Mercury Rd (left if coming from El Toro Blvd., right if coming from Lake Forest Blvd.).
For those insurances, you pay your deductible and then the co-pay. Aetna and Tricare have approved South County Psychological, Inc. as an out of network provider. For those, you pay more up front, as they pay less for out of network services. If you have a different insurance, you will pay Dr. Novak directly.
If you are using insurance, you also need to sign a Release of Information for your insurance company. If you would like to leave a credit card on file to allow Dr. Novak to bill for missed appointments and to qualify to receive the discounted rate of $130.00 per session, please complete the Credit Card Authorization and bring that with you, too.

Dr. Novak is an amazing clinician. I have been to other psychologists that just don't have the insight that she does. It didn't take long for me to develop trust and rapport with her. After almost a year, I can easily say that she has helped me through some very difficult times. The hardest meeting we had was the first one. From then on, it has been great!
