Nowadays, pain is a major public health issue. More than a hundred million people suffer from some kind of pain and a majority of them take painkillers. Unfortunately, painkillers come with a variety of side effects. Some side effects, such as kidney damage, are not reversible. So, finding a way to minimize these effects while simultaneously relieving the pain is key, especially in chronic situations.
Herbs have been used as a natural form of medicine for thousands of years. It has been shown to be compatible with the nature of our body, bringing it into balance without the harshness of side effects. Mostly herbs move and regulate the Qi and tonify and invigorate the blood, and warm and tonify the Yang and nourish the Yin as well.
Actually, Acupuncture and herbs don't need specific preparation. Acupuncture and herbal appointments don't require specific preparation. However, it is helpful to wear loose-fitting clothing. Mostly we need to have an easy access to the knees area and the elbows, but sometimes we may need to access the shoulders and the back.
Actually, does not, and it is a very safe technique, but it depends on every patient. Some people are sensitive and some are not. Normally you may feel a heavy sensation, tingling or pinchy which is good news because it is a sign of the Qi reaction. It means your energy is moving. But still, there are some cautions: Bleeding, bruising, infections (we use sterile disposable needles), pain, burns in moxibustion or fire cupping.
If you have insurance, please call your insurance company to find out how they cover acupuncture. If they need a referral letter, then you should call your P.C.P for a referral letter. If your insurance covers acupuncture, except those, are listed above, we will provide you with a super-bill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Both Dr. Mustafa and Dr. Claudia helped me so much during my time in Massachusetts. I definitely always try to choose Mostafa as he is great with giving my therapy the attention it needs. This was my first time trying acupuncture so I don't have a comparative experience but I feel great and enjoyed it as my pain is gone after just one session. The prices are totally affordable and the atmosphere is peaceful. He accepts different types of insurances.

Dr. Medhati is licensed acupuncturists and herbalists Phd. But more importantly he is one of the most intelligent and caring medical professionals you will ever meet. The more important thing is that the affordable prices and accepting insurances. He considers community acupuncture for low income people. He is wonderful. Highly recommended.
