Services
Our office staff is a team of highly trained professionals dedicated to educating patients and helping patients discern how best to achieve their ideal periodontal and dental implant health within a warm and friendly atmosphere. Unlike in "big box" practices, Dr. Black, and Dr. Kum are the only doctors, offering each patient the personal care and the individual attention he or she deserves.
Dr. Kum is very excited to join BlackBeagle and to call Carmel his new home! Originally from central Kansas, Dr. Kum always knew he wanted to be in the Midwest and is so happy to be back. Dr. Kum earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Creighton University and continued at Creighton to pursue his Doctor in Dental Surgery.
The first step is an examination and consultation to determine whether or not you are a candidate for a dental implant procedure. This usually involves x-rays and may include taking impressions for models of your teeth. During the examination, Dr. Black will be evaluating the area(s) of your mouth where teeth are missing, including the amount of bone available to support the placement of implants.
We offer our patients a variety of esthetic periodontal plastic and reconstructive procedures to enhance the appearance of the teeth and smile. One of the most common esthetic procedures is anterior crown lengthening to improve a "gummy" smile. This procedure involves reshaping the gum and bone tissue to expose more of the natural tooth, or "lengthen" it.
This type of cleaning can be thought of as a more extensive procedure that focuses on areas of active or past disease sites, to maintain the health of the supporting tissues of the teeth, including the gum, bone, and supporting ligaments. In most cases, the difference lies in concentrated efforts below the gum line in problem areas.

Dr. Black removed my cracked tooth. I am amazed at how little pain I am in after the extraction! I took minimal pain meds and I am not swollen at all. Even the numbing of my mouth before the procedure included minor pain. She is young but very good! I was a bit of a wimp because this is the first tooth I lost but they were very patient with me.
