Services
Healthy Neighbors, Healthy Communities: Leading the way to wellness through collaborative, inclusive and compassionate care. Washington County Mental Health Services advocates the inclusion of all persons into our communities and actively encourages Self-Determination and Recovery.

We serve all individuals and families coping with the challenges of developmental and intellectual disabilities, mental health, and substance use by providing trauma-informed services to support them as they achieve their highest potential and best possible quality of life.
Intensive Care Services (ICS) is a combined service that provides 24-hour emergency services for individuals and families. The primary goal is to reduce the immediate distressing effects of crisis and encourage stabilization. Start by calling (802) 229-0591 to speak to one of our friendly Intake Coordinators.
The Emergency Services Team is a 24 hours, 7 days a week crisis intervention and assessment program covering all of Washington County and the towns of Orange, Williamstown and Washington in Orange County. The Team is a mobile department and will provide services to people in the community as well as within programs.
Brief Urgent Care services are services that are short-term. They provide stabilization to clients that help them get back to their community and connected to community services as soon as possible. These community-based services programs include Adult Access, Children's Access and our Street Outreach Interventionist Program.
Home Intervention is a short term crisis stabilization/hospital diversion program within WCMHS that provides supportive counseling to individuals who would otherwise require hospitalization. The program is unique in that it is a collaborative effort between the Intensive Care Services (ICS) and Community Support Program (CSP) divisions of Washington County Mental Health Services and serves both WCMHS clients as well as the general public.

Report
Washington County mental health just let my in-crisis, autistic, legal ward walk out of their facility and into downtown Barre in her pajamas. A person the courts said could not care for themselves. We had to take her back to the ER where the SAME IDIOT STAFFER was supposed to screen her again but instead left the responsibility to an even worse screener who told my daughter the night before to just "get some sleep and she can have what she wants in the morning".
Do NOT trust these people. They waited until after 5 to "dump" our daughter on the street so we couldn't get immediate intervention
