If your hardwood floors need sprucing up or a refresh, then hire Tao and his crew! Upon buying a house, we knew we wanted to brighten up the hardwood floors and also replace some carpet in a small basement area. We decided to hire Tao's crew to refinish hardwood floors that had not been refinished for at least two decades. Her recommended resanding and applying 3 layers of water-based stain to give the wood a brand new look. The water-based stain also gave the wood a more natural look, and did not exhibit any odors (especially since we have a young child and pet). We have no regrets hiring

I've worked with Tao and his team several times at two or three different homes I've either moved into, or was renovating. Bar none, he is the best in the biz. He and his team do what they say they're going to do and provide exceptional work. I work with a lot of contractors in my line of work and with today's housing market most of them will give you a quote and then disappear after getting a check. Or even worse, you have to beg them to get you a proposal or any sort of legitimate quote inside of a month! Tao and his team get in and get out super fast and aside from the beautiful floors left

Tao and his team are all absolute professionals. I received my quote fast- had my space measured and even received samples to make sure I was completely happy with what I was getting. The installation went perfectly and the floor looks incredible. They even vacuumed as they went to keep the dust under control! All of the employees of Taozen are stellar and you can't beat the quality and price.

I recently bought a new (but nearly 100-year-old) house. It had gorgeous hardwood floors that no one had paid attention to in some time. They weren't in terrible condition, but they needed some love.
After reading Taozen's stellar reviews here, I invited him out to give a quote. I chose him over other vendors for many reasons. He responded to my query promptly, and came out to the property to take a look at it. He was personable and respectful. About 3 years ago we bought a house that had half wall to wall carpet. The other half was 20 year old Brazilian Cherry hardwood flooring that had significant scratching. Taozen removed old carpeting, installed matching Brazilian Cherry flooring and refinished existing hardwood floor. The job, 3 years later, is still flawless. I continue to be impressed on how they matched the flooring. We have a very high energy dog and the floors look as new today as when they were installed.

Tao does good work and looks out for his customers. Other contractors I hired independently of him in overlapping fields have heard of him by his reputation, and he has his respect and admiration of his peers.
He redid our old flooring, replaced carpet with new flooring, and replaced laminate with hardwood.
Folks who stop by - especially folks who knew how things used to look, generally now say "wow, those are nice floors." They really pop out and make the room look much nicer.
I've recommended Tao to my friends and family who need flooring, and say he's earned this 5 star review.

Last month we were in a time crunch. Movers coming soon and we recently passed papers on a condo learning that master bedroom +walk-in closet had plywood under wall to wall, not hardwood.
We got info/quotes from 2 reputable flooring specialists. Taozen & Goddard. Right away we could see great differences. Tao, the owner, suggested prefinished red oak, Algonquin brand. No fumes! No worries that it would not be thoroughly dry. He brought samples so we could see how it matched both in color & height to meet hallway hardwood. He suggested removing closet system, putting wall to wall hardwood

I contacted them for a flooring project based on all the positive reviews on Yelp. The person I spoke with over the phone explained to me that although they don't install vinyl flooring but he would come out and do an assessment and pass it on to their partner's shop for an estimate. It sounded promising and I scheduled a next day appointment with him which he confirmed. He never showed up and did not even bother to call and follow-up. It wasted my time on a Saturday waited for him to come. This is just bad customer service.

I recommend Taozen flooring to anyone who wants to hire the best floor guy around. I just bought a house. The hardwood floors were in terrible shape. The hardwood was about 100 years old with patterns. I knew the floors had potential to look beautiful, if I had the right hardwood floor company do the job to refinish them and bring them back to life.
Taozen was just what these floors needed. They made my ugly hardwood - THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HARDWOOD FLOOR I'VE EVER SEEN! There are patterns in my floor that are mesmerizing. I couldn't be happier with the final results.

I contacted Tao about my floor in my brand new condo. I had already torn up the rugs and a grand crack was revealed. Ugh! Tao came to rescue and fixed my floors without a problem. My new floating floors are wonderful without that floating feeling. My floors are sturdy with wood topping and are made to last. Tao delivers Real Quality work.

Tao and his team do AMAZING work. Tao was extremely helpful in the beginning of our process as we did not know what type of flooring to choose or what we could afford. He talked us through all the benefits and risks with each selection and we settled on hardwood floors for a GREAT price. We had known our existing floor and sub-floor had some leveling issues, but Tao and his team were able to address this easily and now we have one solid level throughout the entire first floor instead of slopes and soft spots. The installation process was extremely easy - 2 days and everything was left spotlessly

THE BEST. Tao and his team are professional to work with, and do an INCREDIBLE job. We had them refinish the floors in our new home (literally every sq ft!), and the floors are gleaming and gorgeous. They had to patch a few sections, and the patch is totally seamless. We also had them install new hardwood (as a replacement for carpet). Of these three jobs, all of them were spectacularly done. We hired Tao and his team to replace the hardwood floor for our 650 square feet apartment and they did an excellent job. Our apartment is very old with lots of nooks and crannies, and there are many electrical outlets in the baseboards. Tao's team took the time to demolish the existing floors to the edges of the baseboards and cut the prefinished hardwood pieces into appropriate lengths so that they fit properly. They then covered up all the edges between the baseboards and the floors with moulding, which made the final finish look nice.

So I should have known when I called and Tao was in a meeting. Ok, don't answer the phone. We agreed on a time, and he asked me to text the date and time to him. So now I'm his personal assistant. He showed up 20 minutes late. Ok, I understand that doing one small hallway shouldn't be done because of a lack of consistency. Then he went on to offer me "free advice" because he's a former broker. Felt more like a talking to. On his way out he said something about " coming all this way." What, two towns over?? I took a day off to meet with you. Yes, my time

I picked to work with Taozen based on the reviews I read and everything lived up to expectations. Taozen did an excellent job refinishing our pine floors in an old condo in Somerville. Tao replied promptly to my inquiry and came by the following day to discuss options. He was professional and gave honest recommendations and fair prices. We chose to refinish the floors and we were not disappointed. We left keys for Tao and his team, evacuated for 5 days, and came back to a clean condo and beautifully refinished floors. His team even came back within hours of me contacting him to smooth out a section
