Services
The first Ralph Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy was founded in 1996 to serve the needs of students all over the San Francisco California area. In 2016 Ralph Gracie Florida opened its doors here in East Central Florida. Since the opening, our Martial Arts School in Port Orange has helped an impressive amount of students change the way they feel about learning.
Gi and No Gi are the 2 forms of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Gi Jiu Jitsu is grappling with the use of a traditional Gi, which allows you to grab the clothing of your opponent. No Gi is grappling without the traditional uniform, instead you wear shorts and a rash guard. In no gi you cannot grab your opponent's clothing.
To be a complete BJJ practitioner, you should train in both Gi and No-Gi. Usually if you start training in majority without the Gi, then you will have a much harder time adapting to the Gi. The Gi in some ways is more complex with all the grips but No Gi has many other aspects which are not found in the Gi (for ex: more brabo chokes, guillotines, footlocks than in the Gi).
The instructors at Ralph Gracie Florida believe teaching kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is an amazing opportunity. Being able to have such a direct impact on these youngster's life is an incredible feeling. With our Kids Classes, students have the chance to exercise their mind in ways they never have before.

My family and I have been learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from Professor Regis at Ralph Gracie Florida for over 2 years now!
We love it and feel we have gained a new family!
Professor Regis has made a very safe environment for men, woman and children to come and learn the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Professor Regis and his wife Claudia are very kindhearted and never quick to anger.
I believe this is what sets this academy apart from others.
Every year they have a large celebration and Professor Regis does a Brazilian BBQ for everyone!( He has mastered the art of BJJ and he is also a master chef

Everything about this business is wonderful. The customer service is absolutely amazing & every day you walk into this academy you are greeted with a smile & warm welcome. The professor teaches the classes very well & provides his students with useful, constructive information on the moves & jiu jitsu in order to deliver the best material he can. Everyone is extremely helpful & the atmosphere is extremely positive. If I could give this business 10 stars, I would!

This Jui Jitshu program not only helps students build gross motor movements and self discipline it also is an investment in the lives of children to help them feel empowered and gives them self-confidence. My son has enthusiasm about what he does there. We love to see that spark in him, and I really appreciate how they encourage him!

Why? 2 out of our 4 kids attended this class for some time before the job took us out of state. Losing this class for the kids was one of our biggest regrets, and we mentioned it often. Now, 2 years later, we’re living back in town and now 3 of our kids are signed up and absolutely loving it! In fact, they’re in the picture! The classes are a highlight for them every week and the numbers GROWING!!!

My kids and I joined close to 2 years ago and are still going strong to this day. They have developed skills they can take with them beyond the Jiu Jitsu mat. As a family and locally owned business the family has dedicated themselves to their craft and to their students. By far the best martial arts school I have attended, our professor is true champion, real medalist who teach with professionalism and excellence. I enrolled my son here three months ago, switching from another BJJ place and my son was very hesitant to train at a new facility. Professor Regis went out of his way to make my son comfortable and within one class he was hooked! Then Professor Regis talked my wife and I into doing some classes, now we are hooked! This place is professional, clean and very welcome to complete beginners. We now practice BJJ as a family and I never thought that would be possible. This gym is like one large family where everyone helps each other and at the same time pushes one another to be better.
