I've been working with Griffin Lee at Cotman IP for a couple years on various projects including trademarks and patents. He's unlike any attorney I've ever dealt with in that he is a pleasure to interact with and that he is very responsive. If I email him and he's busy that day, he lets me know that and tells me that he'll contact me the following day. And he does. Every other attorney I've dealt with just ignores me until I've hounded them 4-7 times. He is patient with my questions as I try to understand IP and the legal processes surrounding it. He is also excellent

First, a rushed yet paid in-person consultation with one of their IP attorneys. Then, days and days to reply to emails, saying he's been swamped.
Sorry, as a paying client, I don't want to hear that. I want my lawyer to be swamped helping me, not putting me on the back burner.
I have found that in general, attorney patent filing fees are absurd. I didn't end up using the attorney for that, not because I couldn't afford it, but because despite my questioning for details and fee justification, he failed to convince me that the time he claimed that would be invested in my filing

Cotman IP can help with any IP issue - trademark, copyright or patent. It's hard to find a good, high quality patent attorney since not all IP attorneys practice patent law. I would certainly recommend Dan and his team for any IP service in order to ensure that your intellectual property is protected!

I'm not sure what's up with that 1 star review because I had an amazing experience with Cotman IP group. Not only did they respond to my emails promptly but they were very transparent and up front about their services. Please read this, if you are new to hiring a law firm for anything...This law firm must think that even taking a breath when corresponding is considered billable. I would NEVER, ever, recommend this company.
Not only did I have to deal with the paralegal (I'm small potatoes for the "real" attorney), who charged for every email and phone conversation, but it took her THREE emails to answer my simple question: "How and what do you charge for your time?"...ah, you may ask, did she charge me for each email that she couldn't figure out what she actually charged me?"
