We have been in the lumber industry since 1993; being a provider of quality domestic & imported hardwoods. The company was started by Robert "Buck" Sarver, in 1993 & has grown into a roughly 35,000 square foot facilty with showroom, shop & warehouse space, that includes roughly between 500,000 - 600,000 board feet of lumber.
Some people just slice them up to use for drinks mat coasters. Wear your breathing gear when turning the banksia nut. It is recommended increasing the speed of the lathe to around 2500 rpm, take light cuts & make sure you are using sharp tools. Before turning a banksia nut give it a quick brush off with a soft wire brush, this removes any of the loose material without damaging the nuts surface.
