The best choice for building materials in the area. By this I mean within a good many miles. You can beat the experience and customer service. Knowledge of suppliers and delivery times is key to planning jobs. With the big box stores I get what I get when I get it, in whatever condition it happens to be in. Here the front desk gets you exactly what you need. Special orders come in on time. The store has an incredible inventory.
The yard guys are worth their weight in gold. Buy some lumber and watch them look down and see if they are straight. They know their stuff. You cannot put a price tag on

Very friendly and helpful. but in the 15 years I've been a contractor, they have the highest prices I have ever dealt with. cost me over 1,000.00 more to build a deck than if I would have went to H.P Starr (who are also very friendly and helpful). I am in sticker shock from going over the material prices after finishing the job.

Best place ever! Have been going here for years, owners & employees are very helpful and knowledgeable of the products they sell. You can get any thing there from clothes,tools,and any building materials you could need. To bad they don't sell sandwiches for lunch there or it would be even better. Keep up the good work guys!

Don't bother visiting this establishment.
We went in on a Friend's recommendation to look for shingles. We are re-shingling our entire roof so Ambridge Lumber had to gain between $700-$1200 from our business. Unfortunately they showed us they couldn't care less about having two people come in and spend that kind of money.
We walked in to no greeting. We wandered around the store for about 15 minutes without anyone acknowledging us. Turns out, what we needed was upstairs which was totally unmarked besides "Showroom" we found this ourselves. We found the meager shingles
