Services
APEX began as an idea in January of 1997. When the existing Virginia Gymnastics decided to close it's doors, APEX became a reality. Today we are proud to have over 1200 young gymnasts in our APEX programs. APEX has been voted Best Gymnastics Facility in Loudoun County, Leesburg and Northern Virginia for over 15 years!
APEX provides competitive gymnastics teams for girls, levels 3 - 10 and boys, levels 4 - 10. APEX also offers boys & girls Xcel teams, Developmental teams and a T & T Team. Gymnasts train year round and compete all over the United States. There are over 150 competitive team members.
In past years our teams have won state championships, crowned over 200 individual state champions, qualified 100% of our gymnasts to regionals, qualified gymnasts to Nationals, had gymnasts medal at Nationals and had gymnasts receive both athletic and academic scholarships to college.Team placements for the season 2019- 2020 are ongoing.

APEX Gymnastics is looking for the right people to join our staff. We are searching for both part time and full time staff who can work with recreational classes as well as Competitive Teams, Developmental teams, T & T Team and Xcel teams Our 28,000 square foot facility has separate gyms for team and recreational gymnasts both outfitted with plenty of equipment and plenty of kids.
Our 28,000 square foot air conditioned facility is unique in that there is 12,000 square feet dedicated to recreational students. The team gymnasts have their own 14,000 square foot facility and dance room as well as private bathrooms, changing areas and lockers. Office space and observation rooms occupy the remainder of our facility.
We at APEX Gymnastics feel extremely fortunate to be a part of such an amazing community, so we aim to give back by donating goods and services to organizations here in Loudoun County & the Leesburg area. Due to the overwhelming number of donation requests, we have changed our method for receiving them.

The coaches at Apex are good and seem to care for the kids on their teams. Communication as to the status of each child could be better - after a year we have yet to hear anything from the coaches as to how well our child is doing .
The administration of Apex is not very good. If your child is on one of the teams, you’re expected to go to a minimum number of meets per year. If you decide for your child not to attend any meet that falls on a practice date, there are no make-ups and no credit on the monthly fee. Generally, whatever concerns we have brought up with the front office are answered

Apex has been fantastic during the pandemic. Going on walks around the neighborhood is a nice activity for families these days, but it’s not enough for my active gymnast. She loves the at-home Apex classes via zoom. Her older sister who is not a gymnast also participates, and warms my heart that they can do this together.
This is a tough time for everybody, and Apex has dealt thoughtfully with this unique situation. I appreciate their positivity, flexibility, and problem-solving. After reading all of the reviews on this site, I can say I have had very much opposite experiences of those who were

During the tough times, like now with businesses forced to be closed, Apex Owner and management immediately switched gears to offer a Zoom conditioning and workout program to members. No fuss, just join. My gymnast daughter has been as committed to this as to the physical gym practices, and it has helped with the isolation. That flexibility and business acumen makes Apex a favorite for us.

APEX has been a part of our family and daughters life for going on 6 years doing competitive gymnatics. I have never been disappointed by the instruction and management of this facility. My daughter considers this her second home and has met some of her best friends here and has an outstanding relationship with her coaches. We are so thankful for what APEX has brought into her life - life skills, confidence, friendships and joy!
Most recently with COVID I cannot say enough amazing things for how the gym has handled the pandemic and our membership from day 1. Their communication was stellar -

Fantastic gym and I was surprised by the posts. We are a military family and have been involved in competitive gymnastics for 12 years all around the country (6 different gyms) with 3 of our children. We have been at Apex for over a year and this has been the best gym without question. The team is large and the girls are always competitive at meets. The coaches are outstanding and there is very little turnover which is important for the gymnasts. The owner runs a tight ship and is very clear about her expectations. She is not one to coddle and is no nonsense but she is very attentive and promptly

Apex has been a part of our family for almost ten years. Our three girls started together - one in Pre-team, one in Excel, and one in the parent and child class. Each graduated progressively, with solid, progressive, measured training. While our Excel (the program between the competitive team track, and the recreational gymnast track) daughter decided to move to dance, then cheerleading (combining the two skills), our other two daughters have progressed through the team program over several years.

My daughter and her friends hate it here. Barbara doesn't let the gymnats practice on skills that they are not good at. She also separates best friends so they don't have fun. Putting best friends together makes the students want to come back each week. Barbara and Brett treat different gymnasts differently and they didn't do anything wrong. He doesn't help gymnasts master a skill. He just says "ok" and moves on. Barbara is a terrible influence to my child. She accuses my child of not practicing at home. She is a terrible coach alongside Brett.

We love Apex. Our daughter has been attending Apex for nine years. Most of the same coaches when we started there are still there today! We have found Apex to be very flexible with two practice times for our daughters team for those kids who get out of school late. The staff is also very responsive to emails. We highly recommend Apex for gymnasts of any skill level.

Took my 3 year old for class and he just wasn't ready--very upset and did not want to participate in the chaotic atmosphere. I think he may be ready in another year. I explained this to the gym and they said I would still need to pay for an additional month since the drop enrollment notice must be given on the first day of the next billing cycle. So after one class when it just didn't work, I have to continue to pay for 2 months. Even when he is ready for this type of activity we will find another gym- this business is not friendly for young children wanting to try things out in a positive and

No gym is perfect, including apex. Many of the issues previously raised here are 100% true. But, as a parent who has had three kids go through two different competitive gymnastics programs AND high school gymnastics, there are reasons that most parents won't see or understand when their child is four years old and one of 20 kids in his/her first gym kids class. Yes, classes are large and the gym seems crowded. It is very much a "controlled chaos." Each group has at least two coaches and a specific area in which to work. The kids learn quickly where they are supposed to be, and

They just try to make their money and make no attempt to inspire the kids. My daughter suddenly wanted to quit after 4 years because she developed a fear (high beam). When I shared that with the coach and asked her to help my daughter get over her fear, maybe keep her off the high beam for a class or two, i turn around after 15 mins of this conversation and see my daughter back on the beam! Weeks later, my daughter told me when she pointed out to the coach that her mom said not to get on the beam for that class, the coach's response was "Well, she is not the coach.". Really?! Damn

Apex is the safest gym I've ever attended, as well as one of the most nurturing & fun. Despite long hours & rigorous practices that could easily deter a young athlete, the coaching staff managed to make it an enjoyable experience. Teammates became more like sisters and coaches became pseudo parents, they teach more than how to flip; they teach dedication, commitment, work ethic, good sportsmanship, and more. These lessons extend past a child's gymnastics career and carry into their adult lives.

I've have to say based off all the other negative reviews I was extremely hesitant to visit Apex, but I did it anyway. We have been there for almost 4 mos now and any contact I have had with the front desk (in person and over the phone) has been excellent. Perhaps they got wind of all the bad reviews? Either way...they have been extremely friendly/courteous with any questions and requests I had. I am also very pleased with my child's coach. He is professional and very attentive to the children. He works with an assistant coach, which also pleases me (due to class size). They are

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Stay away from this awful place and give your kids a much better experience elsewhere. Apex does not care about the children or its customers and continues to decline in every category. The office manager is absolutely rude, completely inflexible, talks in circles and never resolves any issues. I not only repeatedly heard this from several parents, but also personally experienced it myself.
Save your money and do not put your child through the negative experience. I spoke to a number of parents who switched to GForce. I will gladly be doing the same and am thrilled

A lot of Yelpers have complained about the customer service at Apex. Bizarrely, my "customer service" experience was the best part of my experience at Apex. The front office people were very helpful in setting up our registration and when we canceled our daughter's enrollment, we received a very measured and professional response from the owner. I'd enumerated my complaints in my cancelation and she addressed at least 75% of them.
Unfortunately, our experience in the Parent and Child class over three months in the fall of 2014 was extremely disappointing. The class was regularly

Apex management has the worst customer service and should consider working for the DMV. Actually I've had better customer service at the DMV and I think that should pretty much sum up my horrible experience dealing with Apex. Go elsewhere and save yourself the frustration that will surely ensue from this place.

My son just finished a week long camp at Apex. He seemed to enjoy it, but not as much as other camps he attended this summer. I never got much out of him other than they played in a foam pit, jumped in a bounce house, played duck duck goose, played ghosts in the graveyard and did a craft each day. Some of the crafts it looks like someone did for him. I am hoping at some point he worked on some actual gymnastics skills, but he never told me about them if he did. It is a very different feel here coming from Little Gym (VERY friendly staff) and the Freedom Center for gymnastics. Staff wasn

Just need to provide an update since we changed gyms a year ago. It was the best decision we could have made. My daughters skills improved, she placed in every meet, she loves her coaches and team mates. It's an entirely different situation than the previous years at Apex.
