Lake Joy is a family owned and managed campground that has been a favorite summer getaway for more than 40 years. Our goal is to provide a clean, relaxing, friendly environment for families and friends to enjoy time together. We pride ourselves on attention to our campers, the cleanliness of our campground, the care of our grounds and our modern shower facilities.
We are also proud of our private, spring fed lake which has swimming, boating and some of the best fishing in this part of the state. Lake Joy Campground is located in the driftless area of scenic southwest Wisconsin on the edge of our 60 acre private lake surrounded by nothing but nature itself! This region of Wisconsin was untouched by glaciers which covered much of the state.

Lake Joy Campground is proud to be part of the Tri-County ATV Trail System, and we welcome all campers who want to ATV and enjoy the beautiful southwest Wisconsin countryside. As part of the trail system, we adhere to all Wisconsin All-Terrain Vehicle Rules. If you are unfamiliar with these rules, we have free pamphlets from the DNR that you may obtain at the campground office.
We want people to continue to enjoy Lake Joy Campground's excellent fishing and boating, but need everyone to do their part so that our lake does not become contaminated with VHS. Anglers may not use dead leeches, dead fish, fish eggs, or fish parts for bait at Lake Joy Campground. Anglers may not bring boats and fishing equipment and containers into Lake Joy Campground from out of state unless all the water has been drained from them first.
It also served as a stark reminder of how firewood can harbor many different kinds of invasive pests and diseases that are harmful to Wisconsin's trees both in forest and urban settings. Gypsy moth, oak wilt, and the emerald ash borer are just a few examples of pests and diseases that hitch hike on firewood, making their way easily into previously unaffected, healthy areas.

Had an absolute blast at Lake Joy. Found out about them on Travel WI as we were looking for a great place to fish and camp. They have a private lake with a ton of things to do (boat rentals, kayaks, inflatable water course and much more). We loved how close we were to the water. Very affordable and the owners are so nice. We will definitely be back to visit. If you are looking to support local, check these guys out.

We love camping at lake Joy. Our family has been coming here since I was a little girl. Lots of activities for the kids. Game room, hay rides, outdoor movies, inflatable‘s in the lake, kayaking, paddle boats, canoes, Close to the ATV trail, plenty of play grounds. They also have holiday activities as well. My only complaint is the noon check out otherwise it’s fantastic place to take the family for the weekend.

The owners & camp ground workers were phenomenal. It was my first experience camping with a new camper. I was guided right to the site, showed where to pull in, leveled, hooked up to everything, & they even stuck around to make sure everything was working properly. At the end of the trip I was also helped with emptying my tanks. I was feeling anxious about this first experience, but left fully relieved & so thankful for all the wonderful help!

My boyfriend and I had booked 2 campsites Memorial Day weekend for his birthday. We called a month and a half in advance, knowing this would be a high volume weekend. We told Gregg, the owner, we are not all above 21, and were reassured several times this would not be an issue. One day before our camping trip, we received a call that our booking has been canceled because of our parties age. It quickly became clear that it was not because of age and was most likely due to overbooking. The owner told us there was nothing he could do for us. He continued to call this a “mutual error” even though

Lake Joy Campground: What a joy! We stayed the weekend before Memorial Day so there weren't that many other campers. We had sites 30 and 31. They were HUGE and just a few yards from the lake. Very few bugs were seen. Not a single person in our group got a mosquito bite. Not sure if they spray? But this was a huge plus! We were sad that the water toys were no yet in the water. Fishing was fun but only caught crappies. The office clerk was not the friendliest. I don't think he cracked a smile once. Cheer up Charlie-- You're at Lake Joy! The surrounding area is a lush hilly landscape

Have camped here several years in a row, and this year was by far the worst, and we will not be returning.
Each year we pay in advance, yet each year when we get there, they find some reason to charge us additional fees. It's always something that costs more.
This year we experienced theft 3 times!! I know the campsite has no control over people that are idiots, but when we mentioned this to them, they said there was nothing they can do.
Porta Potty was full almost the entire time we were there (5 days) - they were not maintained well at all.
They are pretty strict on "quiet time

My girlfriend and I, along with two of our friends camped here during a short holiday last weekend.
We stayed at one of the tent or camper sites, and although it says it is for tent camping, we were the only tent in the area and it felt A LOT like camping in the middle of a trailer park. The lot was fairly small and not marked well at all. And to make matters worse, a neighboring camp group took up half of our lot with their 14+ party and 5 campers (complete with screaming kids). Oh and the campground is less than a mile from a busy highway, and although it says it's quiet hours are from

Tent camped for 5 nights at Lake Joy this past week with my girlfriend, her daughters and one of their friends. Overall a positive experience, despite the extremely hot temps. The staff were both friendly and helpful; when we arrived and found the 2 sites we reserved were primarily in the sun and asked if we could shift to a couple shaded sites, they were happy to accommodate our request.
The tent camping sites are spacious, well-tended to, and within a very short distance of both the lake and showers. Nice big shady trees to sit under and grassy areas for the tents. The girls loved the sights
