Imagine having to travel from San Diego to Chicago to New York to New Jersey in a single day. Exhausting, right? It certainly was for me! However, what made my multistate travel worth it was being picked up by Hany of Rutherford Taxi. He was attentive to my every need - tracked my arrival, texted detailed instructions for pickup, and provided such a safe and pleasant ride back to my home. He cared about me as a human being and that made all the difference. I absolutely recommend Rutherford Taxi and Hany for all of your travel needs (so much so that I wrote this review 1.5 hours after my return

Tried to get a cab home from MetLife after a concert. Guy swore he was coming. Said he was stuck in traffic trying to get into the stadium. We sat there for almost two hours and saw cars come and go...the cop directing traffic said it shouldn’t have taken that long to get in...maybe 30-45 mins but he said he guy probably never was coming and likely left. I called dispatch twice and they got mad at me trying to check where the cab was. The driver just stopped answering his phone. I will never ever ever use this company again — my first time trying by the way — so this company will never get

I have been a customer of Rutherford Taxi for about two years. I travel a lot, and my most pressing need is reliability. I am surprised at some of the reviews because, for me, Rutherford Taxi has been on time and courteous 100% of the time. Anything less is not going to work for me. Yesterday's experience caused me to write this review. I had a reservation to be picked up at the NYC Port Authority Bus Station (my first and last experience with that location to be sure!). I texted my taxi driver, Hany, because we were going to be 30 minutes late. He texted back, "Not a problem." It turned out that

DONT CALL THIS COMPANY!!!!!!
Is commonly known that some taxi companies change their rates according to The time of day, regular practice that even uber and lyft have, but when a 2.7 mile ride, at 1.40 am, on a Thursday, with no tolls, comes to be $40, you can agree that pretty much is abuse. We don't need to take this, is not a limo service, not a luxury service, and they are only making up for the lack of clients raising the price every chance they get. If you ask me, bunch of THIEVES, LIARS AND SWINDLERS.

Great Service with Experience and a Smile! I recommend Hany to everyone i know who needs a ride. Hany is very knowledgeable, dedicated, and caring person. And it comes out naturally... he doesn't even have to try. He treats his clients with respect and attends to their travel requirements, courteously. Hany is a pleasant person to deal with. Rutherford Taxi provides very good service, I used them at least 3 times a week for shopping and doctor appointment, Andy and Victor the dispatchers are super friendly and helpful, the drivers on the whole are very efficient and courteous.
The only thing is that I think they could use more drivers, at times the wait times are quite long, this does not happen often and I understand traffic and busier days it is just that several towns rely on Rutherford Taxi because of their great service and record that I would like to see the company grow larger. Keep up the great Work !!!!!!!

I called to see why a 5min taxi ride was 8 one way and 10 the way back. I just wanted to kno (which me being the customer should've been wrong to do),and as soon as i asked the question the dispatcher was extremely disrespectful, insulted me, and called me said very nasty things you should not say to a customer especially a female. No matter what happens, who has a bad day, or even if the customer is a lil annoying its a business and it needs to be a little bit more professional.

I booked this car service ahead of time for a ride to NYC from New Providence NJ. I had an event at 7:00p.m. so I asked the car service to pick me up and 5:30p.m. The car was on time, however, the driver did not know how to get to NYC from New Providence. We ended up driving around in circles. The driver stated that his gps was broken. I asked the driver to call his dispatcher for directions. The driver got upset and said he knew how to get to NYC but his gps was broken. He then asked to use my gps. We kept driving in circles and ended up on 287. The driver said that there was traffic

Not a pleasant experience and I would NOT recommend this company to young people or women of any age. Those who are brave and daring, proceed. Though the driver arrived on time and got me to my destination in one piece, he did not help with luggage and the price was too expensive for a 5 minute ride. The driver also took an obscure, less-direct, route which added more time and anxiety to the already unpleasant experience. The car was disgustingly dirty, beat up, and old with no posted cabbie license, signage, or company information. I'm truly surprised I even got in. The driver had no receipts

My regular car service was booked so I contacted this service. Scheduled my pick up and confirmed address and time.

Appointed time comes the next morning and the driver calls me to get my address. I gave him the house number and cross street and he replies,"thanks, I know where that is."

15 minutes go by and these meathead calls me back and says, "I can't find your house, there's no street in Westfield that has that name."

I inform him that I live in West Orange and it would appear that I would now be driving myself to the airport.

The service said they were sorry

Was helping move my friend to the city last August. The Eastern European owner/dispatch pulled a bait-and-switch: sent the car under a lower amount, only to tell me when I'm in the taxi with all of the stuff packed and already en route, that I was misunderstood and that the fare is higher.
The driver on the otherhand was gracious and nice. But be wary of using them for long distances... or for any reason at all.

Lesson learned, I should have checked yelp first. By far the worst experience I have had with a car or taxi service ever. I'm still actively debating whhich part of my experience was the worst at the moment, so I'll just lay out all of my issues and let you, the dear reader, decide.

1. Price: I live less than 1.5 miles away from the train station in Denville - my destination this morning as I woke up to a car that wouldn't start. $10? $15? Nope...$35 was the quoted price. I was desperate and agreed. Oh but wait, that price only applies when I'm talking to the owner of

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a cab company. I called requesting a pick-up for a passenger who was going to a VERY important meeting. While this passenger didn't have a contact phone number I provided mine for contact if there were any problems. When the train was running late I extended the courtesy of letting them know so the driver wouldn't be sitting there wasting time.

The car never showed up. I called back and spoke to the dispatcher, Rachel - the owner's wife - several times. She was extremely rude in dealing with me and said that it wasn't

TERRIBLE company. I called for a ride on new years eve. I called a day in advance and they said no problem they would pick us up at 2 am for a reasonable fare (comparable to other companies). They asked for my credit card number to hold our spot which seemed odd but i obliged... At 8 pm NYE i called to confirm and spoke to the same guy as the night before - he confirmed our appointment and even gave me the name and cell number of our driver for the night. At 2 am no cab... at 2:15 no cab.. 2:30 no cab... so i called the number and an EXTREMELY rude guy (different person than i booked with) answered

When I called it sounded like the dispatcher was watching a very loud fighting show on tv. I asked if they had a $49 fare to the Newark airport, and she said yes. When the driver arrived (in a beat up very old looking Lincoln), he gave me a different fair, $65, while driving away from my place. When I brought up the quoted fare, he told me that he was the owner of the company and the fare was what he had told me. I called the dispatcher who basically cussed me out. Here is a taxi service that shows up on time then charges you double what any other car service would.

ASK ahead how much the fare is. Then divide it by and two and that is how much the fare will cost you with a different service.
