Help support the on-going research in anti-inflammatory nutrition to control chronic disease for a lifetime. The Inflammation Research Foundation was founded in 2003 as a non-profit 501c foundation dedicated to providing support for clinical research projects for the use of innovative nutritional approaches to reduce inflammation that is the underlying cause of many chronic disease conditions.

Dr. Barry Sears founded the Inflammation Research Foundation in 2003 to undertake the high-quality clinical research needed to understand the relationship of the diet in the management of inflammation. Dr. Sears is considered one of the leading researchers in the world in the area of the dietary modulation of hormones and inflammatory responses.

More than 30 years ago I realized the future of medicine did not lie with developing new magic bullets for any particular disease but developing an overall dietary program to keep inflammation in a zone. This would allow us enough of an inflammatory response to defend ourselves against microbial invasion and help heal our injuries, yet at the same time prevent excess inflammation from attacking our organs.

This would allow us enough of an inflammatory response to defend ourselves against microbial invasion and help heal our injuries, yet at the same time prevent excess inflammation from attacking our organs leading to the development of chronic disease at an earlier age.
Dr. Barry Sears founded the Inflammation Research Foundation in 2003 to undertake the need for high-quality clinical research to understand the relationship of the diet in the resolution of inflammation. Dr. Sears is considered one of the leading researchers in the world in the area of the dietary modulation of hormones, gene activation, and resolution of inflammation.
Although the research at Zone Labs is headed by Dr. Sears, we make extensive use of our Scientific Advisory Board to provide research on the latest breakthroughs in biotechnology from a diverse number of fields. Carol Johnston, PhD, is professor of Nutrition at Arizona State University and director of the Nutrition Program.
The complexity of inflammation is often overwhelming. It is only now that chronic inflammation is becoming appreciated as the underlying cause of chronic disease. There are actually two phases of inflammation. The first phase is the initiation phase that causes the heat, pain, swelling, and redness associated with inflammation from ancient times.
