Founded in 1797 by Father Fermin de Lausen, successor to Junipero Serra, mission San Juan Bautista is the 15th of the 21 California Missions. Host to thousands of tourists each year Old Mission San Juan is an active Catholic Parish. The San Juan Bautista State Historical Park sponsors an Early Days Celebration each year which is always held in June on Father's Day weekend.
Incorporated in 1869 the general law City of San Juan Bautista is nestled in the heart of the noted San Juan Valley between the Gabilan Mountains and Flint Hills. Rich with culture and history, San Juan Bautista offers her residents and visitors a refreshing small town atmosphere filled with the charm and character of the past.
Monterey is a scenic California coastal city of 30,000 year-round residents that grows to more than 70,000 people during the peak visitor season from May through October. The city rises from waters of the pristine Monterey Bay to pine forested hillsides with sweeping bay views. In the 1930's and 40's, Monterey became the center of a thriving fishing industry and the sardine capital of the world.
In 1769 the Spanish explorer Don Gaspar de Portola discovered the land area which is now known as the City of Santa Cruz. When he came upon the beautiful flowing river, he named it San Lorenzo in honor of Saint Lawrence. He called the rolling hills above the river Santa Cruz, which means holy cross.
Betabel is centrally located within one of the best golfing centers in the country, with 20 golf courses all within a 20 mile radius of Gilroy. Of course you can always go to Pebble Beach, but why not check out these local courses before trekking to Monterey and Carmel. The 9-hole "Gavilian" course at the Gavilian Golf Course facility in Gilroy, California features 1,818 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 31.

Very nice RV park. Rochelle was extra helpful when our 5th wheel developed a problem just as we were pulling out, after our first night there. Let us park for a few hours on an empty passage way till it was repaired. Was able to book an additional night when I saw that the repairs would take more than a few hours. Caught up on laundry in a very nice, clean and inexpensive laundry facility! Groundskeeper drove over to us to get some cards from the mobile mechanic who repaired our trailer to have on hand, in case other folks on the premises run into problems. Just shows you how much they care about

When we made our reservations to stay at Betabel RV Resort we didn’t really expect much. But the park layout and setup is great. My 5 star (or more of a 4,5 star) is based on price and park appeal. If you stay, request a concrete pad. They have asphalt sites that are a bit like parking in lot. Our site had a nice tree and a great location. When we arrived the trees were too low for our coach so my wife tracked down the guy working on the grounds and he jumped right on trimming them. That was great service! All utilities work great, except the WiFi. Electric ran at 120v each leg. Water pressure

Stayed here since June of 2020, we did short and long term. Space rent is reasonable. Power is reasonable, staff is friendly. Laundry and bathroom facility are always clean and cheap. Was perfect for us to stay and call temporary home. We moved out of state few days ago since we bought property. Vicki and Rochelle know how to treat you like family.
