Our family story: In 2002 my dad had lost his job in supervision at a Grand Rapids factory. My parents had just built their "dream house" and were terrified at what they were going to do. In the months to come they were directed to Chinook and after selling off all they had worked for in 20 years they purchased the campground.

Quiet, fun place. Sites are Efficiently big enough to fit my camper and a tent. Kids loved the playground and arcade room. Pool was clean and respectful. Employees respectful and courteous. Delivered wood to my campsite.

What a cool secret! This was my first visit. A friend organized a tubing trip here.
I felt like I walked onto a set of an 80s comedy. I was looking around for Rodney Dangerfield or Chevy Chase to come walking bye.
The ambiance was amazing. I could only imagine how much fun it would be to experience that as a young person.
Volleyball, horse shoes, corn hole, camping, and a playground were seen just as I passed. My curiosity spiked wondering what other amenities awaited campers.
My experience was tubing though. They seem to be a well organized operation. The trip was a struggle for a very large

Not a bad family campground. Nice playground, hayride and movie for kids on Saturday. They really are all about the river tubing on the weekends, kinda cater to that. Sometimes a rowdy crowd comes with the tubing. Bathrooms could use some updating but usable

And pool was the family's favorite spot 90 percent of the time and the arcade was a cool surprise for the kids each game is fairly priced!!!! I do wish they had times posted for last calls to go on the river.

We come here just to go tubing down the river. We do get a group site next to the pick up site . This site is away from the main campground but within walking distance. So I can't really say anything about the campground itself other than the office staff is very helpful and friendly. They also have really good pizza that they will deliver to your site.

Was alittle disappointed in the shower house. Was extremely dirty and showers were in rough shape. Other then that, beautiful scenery and a friendly atmosphere!

This is mostly a RV campsite with a few huge sites for tent camping. We loved this campsite right alongside the Muskegon river. We did try to stick with only cooking on a campfire and cooking stove, but with a few days of rain we really enjoyed the restaurant onsite as well as some of the local restaurants near by. They have a great general store across the street and the campsite also rents canoes, kayaks, rafts and tubes to go down the river. We'll be coming back.

First of all I wouldn't even give this place 1/2 a star
2nd Owner is rude (Michelle)
3rd You would think campgrounds owners would understand young adults & anybody who comes here to drink late while be respectful so that we don't have to be elsewhere intoxicated putting ourselves in danger of DUI etc
4th This is a terrible place for anyone who just wants to drink and talk to there friends around the campfire late
This lady will literally scream at you in your face like a psychopath for you & your friends to stop talking around your fire past 12 ruining your entire trip

Great place to camp! We go at least once a year. The new owners have really changed this place around for the better! They have everything you will ever need for a fun weekend of camping. On property restaurant and a store across the street if you've forgot anything. Tube trip is always a blast and you get off right at the campsite.

Really great campground! So much fun to float down the Muskegon river and end at the campground. The shuttle and tube rental is definitely worth the money. We ordered pizza when we got off the river and had it delivered to our campsite- so nice when everyone is tired and just wants to relax the rest of the day! The owners are very welcoming and easy to talk to.

Older worker made racist comments during the ride back from tubing in direct of my husband. Comments mentioning hanging him... I complain to the office and it's brushed off as if it doesn't matter. I'll never return that's for sure.

This will be our 5th year to this family, friendly resorts. We love that we can go tubing without having to leave the camp site. The sites are clean, big and some have power. The rustic look is whisper of true camping. We enjoy the new owners last year. The energy they have for the campers is a soothing treat. If there was trouble they were on top it and still let us have fun. We looked forward to coming back this year and do what we love...go tubing the whole time.

If you are a partier, a drunk, don't mind filthy toilets tben this campground might be for you. Our experience included being up until after 3 am with out of control neighbors, with no enforcement of campground rules or etiquette. Shame too, as it could be nice. Had good reviews from previous management.
