Please keep looking...so many other Attys out there. Excessive charges and the girl in billing actually hung up on me!! I called to question my bill because I had asked to please close out my file in Sept for excessive costs. It is Dec and still getting billed. I called the office this past week and the girl in billing hung up on me because she did not like me expressing my views and concerns!!!
Very unprofessional. I even had the Atty tell me a few months ago not to threaten her with a bad Yelp review! Very upsetting to be treated so badly because I closed out my case.

I'm a pretty positive guy and like to see the good in everyone and everything but, in this case, I just can't get there. DISAPPOINTMENT AND DISGUST doesn't even begin to scratch the surface here. I don't even want to give one star here but apparently a "no star" rating isn't an option. I am so angry and frustrated with Barberis Law. Colleen and Patricia both. A simple uncontested divorce has cost me thousands of dollars. It has drug on for nearly a year now. Yet another friend has a very positive experience with the Barberis firm in the midst of a messy divorce. They cleaned up and facilitated a close to a divorce that another atty had drug on for years. 3 months and it's done.
They handled my divorce years ago and shut it down when my ex threatened to sue me because he thought his child support was more than half the cost of raising his daughters.
Over the years I've referred at least 10 friends and neighbors the Barberis practice. 100% have been impressed by their abilities and results.... and their kindness.

Colleen Barberis is hands down one of the kindest
mediators in the SouthBay area. She has the upmost professional demeanor & is a strong advocate for family law issues in court.
I had the unfortunate experience of having to subject my 12 yr old daughter through a court ordered mediation session due to her father's negligence. The only positive result of that horrible experience was connecting with Colleen. She was that little glimmer of hope for me when I was feeling completely hopeless and helpless.

No one wants to go through a divorce but sometimes it's necessary. These ladies where my rock. No matter how stressed I got Colleen was always there to calm me down. If they offered a 10 star rating I'd give them a 10. I never had the feeling of just being a client I felt like they were family. No matter how trivial my questions might be they always were more than helpful explaining how the process of divorce worked. I can't thank them and the office staff enough for their tremendous help.

Although my divorce process has been lengthy and quite costly, I consider myself blessed to have Pat Barberis representing me. Divorce is a very difficult process at best. I came to the Barberis Law Firm emotionally compromised, and reeling from a sequence of events that turned my life upside down, and left me basically destitute. Colleen Barberis met with me, really listened to my story, identified several issues that I needed to address to protect myself, and assured me that if divorce became necessary, I would be well positioned and represented. Patricia Barberis is the worst Attorney in both skill level and work ethics. She took my child custody case representing me the petitioner, She dragged her feet and postponed hearing after hearing. When she was writing the legal papers needed for our hearing she miss stating the facts causing huge conflicts with the respondent's attorney. She made a 3 month trial last over 3 years to collect all the money she could. Not understanding the legal system I thought this was normal until I met others much later in a similar situation. She gave herself raises repeatedly during this time driving up

Family Law practice! This is very hard to believe. Atty and staff were unfamiliar with legal requirements (paralegal 101 stuff), regarding original certified copies of court orders. They sent xerox copies instead of the required originals. Staff continually resubmitted wrong paperwork and caused our case to linger and the attorney to continue charging fees. Very unprofessional.

RUN...RUN ....RUN FAR AWAY. You'd be better off just representing yourself and saving tens of thousands of dollars. My ex and I could have paid for our daughters college years, even with the 40 increase in tuition rates, with the money we gave to these clowns. They are only in it for the money, don't be fooled. Ask oher attorneys in the area about them. I already have had 4 family att. laugh at me when I said they were my att. before I fired them and just settled out of court. One of the att. was my ex's counsel and afterwards she even laughed at the Barberis's .
