Bishop Brossart High School started as St. Mary High School in 1950. In 1949 St. Mary parish purchased the old Campbell County High School building and in 1950 St. Mary High School opened as a high school for St. Mary parish. The school was led by its first superintendant, Rev. Francis J. DeJaco. First teachers were Sister Mary Jean, S.N.D., and the Rev. Louis Brinker.
The first class started with 32 freshman students. The first graduating class of 25 students was in 1954. In 1961 the high school was changed into a district high school serving 6 parishes of southern Campbell county. The parishes of, Sts. Peter and Paul, St. Phillip, St. Joseph Camp Springs, St. Joseph Cold Spring, St. Mary, and St. John Wilder.

Services
The most recent addition opened and was dedicated by the Most Reverend Bishop Roger J. Foys in September of 2014. Mr. Wilfred H. Neltner helped make this addition to our campus possible by his generous gift to our school. The Neltner Center houses the Munninghoff Family Performing Arts Center, St. Francis of Assisi Chapel, administrative offices, and library.
Pre ACT - students take the Pre ACT in the fall. Student and aggregate reports summarize student performance, identify early intervention needs, and provide item-by-item performance for each Pre ACT examinee. ACT Tessera - students taking the ACT Tessera can identify strengths and areas for improvement in student motivation, social engagement, and self-regulation, all of which are related to student academic success.
Students may visit the College and Career Counseling Office for a variety of services. They can meet with their counselor to discuss post secondary intentions, as well as research colleges, learn about scholarship opportunities, meet with College Admissions Counselors, and apply to colleges.
Students can also research different career options and learn about co-op and internship opportunities, and possible apprenticeships for their particular career interests.Students who are interested in the military can meet with recruiters as well as learn about ROTC and NROTC scholarships. All students should begin completing their High School Resume as soon as they begin their freshman year.

Bishop Brossart High School welcomes International Students to enroll. We believe that our students and community, as well as the exchange student, will be enriched with new perspectives and a mutual understanding of different cultures. We encourage families to host an international student. The decision to do so can be a life changing experience!
Mrs. Dennemann is our Personal Counselors and she is available to meet with students individually during the school day to discuss a variety of concerns. Some common reasons students seek personal counseling include the following: feeling anxious, depressed, or angry; questions about personal or family substance use; conflict with family or friends; low self-esteem; peer pressure; stress management; and concerns about their future.
