I became a dentist because I have always wanted to help others. Nothing makes me feel internally better, than when I can help someone else. It adds meaning to my life. As far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a doctor. My standard answer as a child, when someone would ask me what I want to do when I grow up, was to be a doctor.
Bechtel Dentistry is a dedicated mercury-free dental office offering mercury-safe removal services. That means that we do not place any mercury fillings and are certified to safely remove mercury fillings, utilizing a specific protocol, for patients throughout the Lansing area. Dr. Bechtel is SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) certified from the IAOMT, International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.
Bechtel Dentistry is committed to providing restorative dental services that uphold our holistic wellness standards. Dr. Bechtel and our team are honored to offer a biologic alternative to conventional crowns with biomimetic (minimally invasive) restorations. Biomimetic restoration utilizes porcelain inlays and onlays as well as stress-reduced direct composite restorations that work together in restoring the biomechanics of damaged teeth.

Excellence sums up my appointment. From beginning to end I was impressed with every detail. I had five amalgams removed with the Smart protocol and I’m thankful to have found Dr Bechtel and his staff. They crossed every T and dotted every I. Exactly what you want when removing mercury from your mouth!

I absolutely love everything about this office. Every staff member is kind and good at their job. I have TMJ and they have helped me so much. They work with me and my crazy schedule to get me the best treatment. I have never felt like just another patient. They know me by name and Dr. Bechtel is always educating me on why we are doing things and what I can do to improve my mouth, and over all health.

This is an amazing dental practice- simply the best! Dr. Bechtel is detail oriented, spends time explaining everything to the patient, extremely knowledgeable and is caring and professional. All of the staff are professional, friendly, personable and skilled. No -you won’t feel like you’re in an assembly line here. You’ll feel respected and in good hands. What I like most about Dr Bechtel is he listens to me and what I want and also educates me about what is possible and what would be the best for me long term. No other dentist has ever taken the time to do this. Other dentists made me feel I was just sitting in their seat for a moment until they could just say "Next".
I was concerned about my silver/mercury fillings and Dr Bechtel takes that seriously also, and has the necessary equipment to do it right. I know of no other dentist locally that can do what his office does.

Dr. Jonathan Bechtel has already become my favorite dentist after only one visit. And I have had many dentists over my 62 years of life! He is helping me to achieve my dream of amalgam filling removal, using the SMART method. He has been approved and certified by the IAOMT. He is a biological, holistic dentist who is sincerely interested in the total health and well being of his patients. God has been preparing me for this proactive dental plan for years and I cannot wait to get started!

I was just telling my husband that if we could stick with one dentists office for the rest of our lives, this would be the place. I have honestly never been to a dentist with staff that genuinely want to do their best for you. I never feel like just a patient—I feel valued by everyone there. Every member of this team are so warm and inviting, I always feel that I am cared for and looked after. They actually want to improve your life by teaching better oral hygiene, not just fixing a problem and then setting you loose to continue bad habits. Dr Bechtel and his staff were incredible. I had two temporary crowns done by a national firm and before the final crowns were even ready the temporary fillings had already fallen out, I was refereed to Dr Bechtel by a mutual friend and local oral surgeon, As soon as Dr Bechtel seen that the repairs had to be done that day in order to preserve my natural teeth he began the procedures and successfully saved my smile and natural teeth. Felt no pain and was comfortable the whole time, the chair side manner of Dr Bechtel and staff was so comforting. He could have easily said the teeth are to far gone
