I do like this place. For one, it's only half a mile from my house.
I do try to support local businesses and the smaller mom and pop shops like this one.
The shop feels more homey and friendly than standard dry cleaners.
Their cleaning process is cleaner, but just as effective.
The staff are friendly and helpful and the turnaround is always reasonable for dry cleaning too.

Sylvia has helped me in two last minute emergency situations. Once, when my basement had flooded, an employee stayed over the weekend to launder all of my clothes and prevent them from being ruined. Now, a week away from a relocation, and my washer acting up, there was no hesitation when I dropped off a giant (and I mean giant) load of laundry that I need done ASAP. Prices are very very reasonable and the service could not be better. Highly recommend.

I have been coming here since 2014. They are always friendly and always remember my name. Even after few months of COVID isolation. Recently. I had to have an item back by Monday. The staff offered to deliver it to me on Sunday. When I declined they were so nice and made sure that I wouldn't forget to pick them up. On Sunday they called me in the morning. Of course even after that call, I still forgot. So at 2 pm they called me again. I rushed out. They waited for me after closing to get my clothes. This place has always been this amazing.

This is my first time at a cleaners ever and it was a pleasant experience. The ladies there are very nice and they answer all your questions. I dropped off my queen down comforter because it needed to be washed and my dryer isn't big enough for it and they said they were going to take care of it. I asked for next day availability to be done and they made it happen. I really am unfamiliar with how costly dry cleaners are but for over night cleaning for a queen down comforter it cost me $35. I was expecting it to be a little less but it could have been because I wanted it the next day. Who knows

I normally wait a bit of time in order to really get a feel for a business before offering a review... I now feel that after several visits and after one slight mishap (where the owner called me to offer a sincere apology) that I can give a very positive review on this business. Joan and her staff are always very friendly and they offer to go above and beyond with their service and like I say (when I did have one small mishap with my order) there was a prompt and sincere apology and they've continued to do good by me.

They torched my toggle coat :(
I am not dinging them for how they responded because I didn't notice right away (it was wrapped up in my closet). I am just warning that they can't be trusted with nicer things. When I did mention it on separate occasion the employee said they normally wrap up the toggles. The leather loops are ruined and the fabric feels very dried out. Either way, I need to find a new cleaners.

Honestly, if the employees weren't such sweet people, I'd be giving them 1 star.
I was only going to be in Michigan for 1 week and needed my suit for interviews cleaned. I figured that I'd try Sylvia's because many people I knew had a great experience. Well, I realized they weren't getting their shirts dry cleaned. While they did a great job on my undershirt, blazer and pants - my white shirt was much more lackluster. They got rid of the stain on the collar, which I was quite happy about. However, there were new 0.5cm specks of some pink substance on both sleeves and

They did a wonderful job with my blouses and bridesmaid dresses. I received all of them back on perfect condition. My bridesmaids dress was delicate and I was concerned about its condition but it was returned in an excellent state. I can't wait to return with everyday clothing. This place was great! I appreciated their friendly staff!

The nicest most honest service i have yet had for cleaners. It is a more expensive option but i value a guaranteed cleaned piece of clothing that is not destroyed in the process. I took my white coat to another shop has the hems came back undone! I brought it here - no issues. Close to home for me with good hours too!

Everyone here is incredibly friendly. For basic dry cleaning, they do a good job.
However, shirt laundry is most of what I did, as I have 5-6 shirts a week that need to be cleaned. Every single time I picked up my shirts, at least one new button is chipped or broken on my shirts. I've told them several times about this, and each time, my buttons come back chipped and broken. I even showed them the broken buttons on two of my shirts, dropped them off with explicit instructions to fix the buttons, and while they fixed some of them, the shirts still have broken buttons. They ruined one of my newer shirts. First time I've even had it dry cleaned, and they clearly weren't careful with the collar and now it looks like it was bleached. Shirt can't be worn again.
I showed this to the lady (I assume the owner) and she just denied, denied, denied. Kept saying "all we do is launder them" and even told me to "chill out." Awesome customer service, lady.
After coming here for over 3 years, I'm done with this place. I'm okay with people making mistakes, what I'm not okay with is not taking responsibility for

This place is horrible I took my shirts here they ruined the fabric their machines are too rough I have no idea what they did exactly but my shirts are not how they supposed to be.
Save yourself some time and go down the street there's another place that I really like overall just really bad quality staff is really rude they don't like to help but then he of your questions or concerns will not be going back or recommending to anybody I know

I took my boyfriend's old suede winter coat in for cleaning. This coat seemed to be almost unsalvageable, with large areas being molded and dirty. She sent it out to a professional leather cleaner and it came out looking amazingly-brand-new!!! I was very impressed and will return for future cleaning jobs.
Also, Sylvia was friendly and did well answering my questions about the cleaning process. I enjoyed my time talking with her.

A tad pricey. I found a stain that I don't believe was ever on my dress. I was displeased that I wasn't notified of the unremovable initially when I picked it up. Finding that out later was less than favorable customer service.
That being said, overall was okay. Everything was timely done and they were friendly at the counter.

8/10 shirts needed to be returned for pressing due to wrinkles.
2/4 pants had some kind of cleaning substance on them.
1/10 shirts had yellow/brownish oil on the front of the collar. I can't prove it was them, but it's an oil and I had not worn the shirt in ages, yet the stain is moving so I'm sure it's from the cleaners.
I feel like one mistake in an order would've probably made me 3 star it. Normal service with 100% success would've made me 4 or 5 star this place. But all of these mistakes plus the fact that slacks are $6.25 really kills it for me. I won't

Friendly service, and reasonable pricing
This dry cleaners was on the way to work as well as school. So one day i took my chef cloths to get the stains removed and make it pearly white again. Now i don't expect all of the stains to be removed because some of it can be a little bit tough, and the lady at the front desk also told me ahead of time but when i pick up items I dropped off, and still see that it looks exactly like how I dropped it off can be a little bit of a problem.
i heard they had a delivery service as well, have never tried it but maybe next time when i come back with something

This drycleaners is on the route to and from work from my house so I decided to give it a shot instead of driving all the way to Oak Park to drop off my dry cleaning. In all fairness I've had them clean my items twice the first time I had no problems and thought wow this is a place I can use that's reasonably priced.
When I picked up my second order that's when things got ugly. I have oil stains that are all over a gray shirt of mine that I did not put there. I have a little brown spots all over three of my white shirts that I did not put there. And I have a powdery white substance
