In 1969, Joe's Towing & Recovery started as a gas station with one truck operating in the Oakland / Veterans in Bloomington area.
After a move to Woodrig and Main, we faded out the gas station service, and in 1980, settled into our current location at 2233 Springfield Road. Our original location was less than1/2 acre with a small office and service bay. In 1992, with the rising needs of our community, we expanded our facilities to include a 3060 2-story office building and a 7090 shop.

The employees were fabulous! Friendly and efficient. He was very busy that day so we had to wait awhile, but they were up front regarding the service time arrival and he arrived when they said he would. If even stranded at the airport again with a dead battery we will use them again!

I called them for a tow because I was broke down on Veterans Parkway. The phone call was great and she had a truck on the way fast! I knew it was the crank speed sensor that was going out on our jeep. They were going to tow it back to their lot for me but when the driver got there he mentioned most auto part stores will loan you tools to do small repairs. He towed me to the nearest auto parts store and luckily they had the part and I had it purchased and swapped out in 5 minutes. The tow driver finished writing the tow ticket as I just finished the repair. I jokingly said that I hoped it didn't

John (from Joe’s) came to my rescue in the parking lot of a local restaurant when the starter on my car stopped working. He arrived quickly, had the car connected to his truck super fast and took my car and me to my residence. John was a great guy, enjoys his work and takes pride in providing exceptional service. Don't bother scheduling an appoinment for a tow. Called early in the morning to schedule a tow to my mechanic that afternoon. Called 20min after the time to see if the driver was lost. Nope. Hadn't even been sent out yet. Was told I would have to wait another 30min before someone would be at my house. I understand being busy but I didn't even get an apology for the wait.
Then when I got to the shop, the guy scraped the front end of my car. When I pointed it out, I was told that it happens. No sorry, nothing. Don't bother calling them. They don't care.
