Born and raised in North San Diego County, Jim attended California State University San Marcos, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. Jim began his career in the tax business in 1982 with his family's Pasadena firm, Hodges and Associates, representing people being audited by the IRS.
This invaluable experience has shaped his practice of tax preparation. Having a sound basis in the field of tax law, rules, and regulations, Jim became licensed to practice before the IRS in 1984. He founded his own company in 1991 which has grown steadily since then.
