I have been here twice now and both times they were friendly, honest and service was great. First time they charged me 1/4th what another mechanic had charged me to do the exact same thing and the second time I just popped in and they worked me in fairly quickly and didn't do the extra work they had originally told me they may have to do (turns out it wasn't needed....not too many companies will do that...they'll go ahead and do work just to make extra money). They have definitely found a customer for life!!!

I have been at Davis Tires several times and all good experiences. I needed a catalyst converter & they don’t that kind of work & gave me an excellent referral. My car is older & things start going. Every time I have been back they have fixed it. So many sensors. Their prices are excellent & I feel confident going there. I am new to the area & they were recommended to me. I brought my car, and new tires to the shop last Friday for a scheduled appointment, choosing Davis Tire after reading the reviews here, and wanting to support a local business.
I was helped promptly after arriving on time (slightly late -- my fault).
But I unfortunately didn't receive service meeting my expectations.
After the tires were installed and wheels mounted I asked about the lug nut torque (stick) setting and was told they torque to 100 ft lbs, and was then offered to have them torqued to my preference.
100 ft lbs is too high for alloy wheels with 12 x 1.5 studs (very standard sizes

I had them replace the tires on my boat trailer, 5 tires including the spare. When I dropped it off I gave them the manufacturer’s recommended torque spec. They ran a little late, no big deal. But in doing so I was able to witness the mounting of the wheels. An impact was used. So I questioned the mechanic who replied he wasn’t informed. I then gave him the spec. and he didn’t care. Then I complained in the office but the results didn’t change. The wheels were all installed with an impact then the torque wrench was applied for show after.

I purchased some wheels and tires off of FB market place and took them up to Davis to swap out with my old ones. I know a little job like that is probably more aggravating than it is profitable but, they treated my $100 job just like a $1,000 job. I'm grateful for their good service. Thank you guys.
