Through the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine as well as modern methods of alternative treatments, I combine a 3,000 year old tradition with a modern approach to healthcare. As each person is different, so too is their ailment, which is why I tailor each treatment to the individual's needs. This allows true and lasting healing from the core.

Acupuncture uses hair-thin, flexible needles, inserted into specific points on the bodyactivate the body's own healing energy, called "Qi." Acupuncture also effects the balance of Yin and Yang, when the body is not in harmony with itself. Available currently at Oceanpoint Acupuncture are patent chinese pills.

When you come in for your first visit it will be unlike many typical doctor's visits. This is because in Chinese Medicine we like to get as much information about you as possible. This includes sleep habits, emotions and even tastes you might prefer. Some information may not seem important, but it tells us a lot about you.
It has long been considered the medicine of the layman, because it treats the individual, not only the ailment. TCM takes a "root" and "branch" approach to health, in that true healing cannot take place until both the root of the disharmony and the branch are treated simultaneously. These concepts are taken from the Taoist philosophy that harmony and balance are elemental to the natural order of life and thus, health.
We use very fine needles, many the width of a hair. You may feel a small pinch when first inserted, or a dull ache as "Da qi" is aquired. Others experience a feeling of a small electrical current or warmth, but it is not painful or unpleasant. Because each person and each disharmony is different there is no way of being sure.

I am a 68 yr. old retired RN with severe osteoarthritis. When I came to Oceanpoint I was a mess! This was my first time having acupuncture & I didn't know what to expect. I have had chronic pain for 3 years & my only relief was opioid pain pills. I had back surgery (L4-5), neck surgery (C3-4), pain in my left knee (was told I needed a total knee replacement), SI joint pain, & (R) thumb pain (couldn't grip or lift a gallon of milk). After 2 sessions with Gabe the swelling in my knee & thumb decreased, and my back & neck pain was greatly improved. Gabe was very professional, easy to talk to, & great

I was diagnosed with hyperplasia (with atypia) and was looking at a hysterectomy. Three months under Gabe Schiff Verre's care reversed the diagnosis -- and the need for surgery. I could not recommend him more. I also went to him for pain -- chronic lower back pain, as well as sports related injuries -- and the results were equally astounding.

As a first-timer to acupuncture, I must say I'm very impressed. I've had back pain and hip/leg pain (sciatica +) for years. PT didn't work. Medicine ans massage only temporarily makes the pain go away. In desperation I signed up for a six-session package. So glad I did - this has worked amazingly well. A little better every time. I took a couple weeks off, and the pain returned, so it's not a permanent fix, but it sure beats taking daily pain medication. Don't be scared of needles - you don't even feel it, and Gabe is totally professional. Highly recommended!
