Wisdom teeth, also called "third molars", are the last set of molars to erupt in the mouth. When properly aligned and surrounded by healthy gum tissue, wisdom teeth may not have to be removed. Unfortunately, this is not generally the case and therefore, many people need their wisdom teeth removed. Your wisdom teeth are latecomers; they usually erupt between the ages of 17 and 25.
The inside of the mouth is normally lined with a special type of skin (mucosa) that is smooth and coral pink in color. Any alteration in this appearance could be a warning sign for a pathological process. The most serious of these is oral cancer. These changes can be detected on the lips, cheeks, palate, and gum tissue around the teeth, tongue, face and/or neck.

I could not have been more pleased with my experience with Dr. Samuel Addison at NuImage.
The service that I received from Dr. Addison was excellent. I had my wisdom tooth removed; and, I have been pain free. Also, Neelam, his surgical assistant, was wonderful and helpful.
I received a call from Dr. Addison this morning to check on me. That was very thoughtful of him to do that.

I really can’t say enough good things about this practice. Everyone from the receptionist to the assistants to the Dr herself were so kind and caring for me as the patient. Dr Petraszko was an amazing surgeon! She is so skilled at what she does and as the patient she gave me a great sense of confidence trusting her with my procedure. Coronectomy’s and full extractions aren’t something I was looking forward to having done but I felt more than comfortable choosing her to do them. MJ was an awesome assistant I was so blessed to have my care in her hands! She knows exactly what she’s doing

My daughter visited the Nu Image office at Falls of Neuse Rd , Raleigh in 2018 for teeth removal and we had a wonderful experience with Dr. Addison and his surgical assistant Ms.Neelam. Even though my daughters Orthodontist referred her to a different surgical center for extraction of her wisdom tooth, my daughter and I were comfortable with Dr.Addison and Ms.Neelam with there professionalism and experience.My daughter has her wisdom tooth surgically removed in December 2021 with the same team again. We were extremely satisfied with both visits and happy to refer my family and friends.

Dr. Addison did a good job with my mouth. I had four almost fully grown wisdom teeth: two top, two bottom. As far as I can tell, they’re all gone. The operation was relatively quick- they already had my x-rays and whatever else they needed, all I had to do was go in, sign a couple papers, and give them my driver’s license and insurance card to copy. Dr. Addison’s a pretty cool guy, he explained the risks and benefits quickly but effectively, and had me in and out within about an hour to an hour and a half, which is surprising considering how much he had to pull out of my mouth… Anyways

I was initially directed to Nu Image after being very skeptical about removing my wisdom teeth. I irresponsibly waited a couple of years before actually taking my dentist’s advice about going to see an oral surgeon and at that appointment I realized I should have scheduled an appointment much sooner. I was warmly welcomed by the Nu Image staff and Dr. Addison who carefully explained my CT scan, the placement of my nerves, and the risks with deciding to proceed with surgery. I immediately trusted Dr. Addison because it was clear that he paid attention to detail and I walked out feeling nervous

I went to Nu Image to have two risky extractions done. I can't say enough great things about my experience. Dr. Addison was my surgeon. He is extremely thorough and professional. He was transparent from the beginning and let me know exactly what the risks would be and didn't omit any information. The surgery ended up being a success because of his precision. I would recommend anyone who is looking for an oral surgeon in the Raleigh area to give Nu Image a call.

Dr Addison at Nu Image Surgical & Dental Implant Center performed my oral surgery. I was anxious about the surgery but everyone at Nu Image was very pleasant and helpful. I had several interactions with Customer Service (including a very knowledgeable and helpful insurance rep) and the medical support staff. But that wouldn't matter if the surgery hadn't gone well. Dr Addison said his goal was to do it as atraumatically as possible, and I think he did just that. I had very little swelling and managed with the OTC pain relief. I didn't have any problems but his follow-up call was much appreciated

Dr. Addison was the oral surgeon who removed all 4 of my wisdom teeth. Dental assistant with the glasses and bandana was super kind and made me feel comfortable before going into surgery. Surgery went by so quick and I was home resting comfortably. Dr. Addison called me the next morning to see how I was doing and made sure we stayed in contact just in case anything occurs which I think makes a great doctor. I highly recommend Dr. Addison for any dental procedure because he cares for you as a patient just like how he did for me.

When I found out I needed to get my wisdom teeth removed, I was far from excited. I have never had oral surgery before so I was a bit nervous. My dentist recommended I get a consult with Nu Image and try to get them removed as soon as possible since I had two infections and impacted teeth. I actually got my consultation at the Wake Forest office, (they were awesome there as well) however, they said the soonest appointment would be at the Raleigh location. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Addison to remove all four wisdom teeth that same week. The whole team at the Nu Image Falls of Neuse
