We are an adult dentistry office with two office locations on Oahu, Kailua and South King St. We focus on adult reconstructive, denture and implant dentistry. The majority of procedures done in our office are performed under oral sedation. For about 60% of our new patients it has been a very long time and many years since they had seen a dentist or sought any form of dental care.

Went there today to have broken tooth removed and an implant placed and Dr Uchida and his professional staff were amazing. Before I knew it the job was done and it was painless. Do not go to this dentist he is a nightmare! He seems to have a personality disorder and will yell at his patients and staff. The worst part is he hurts his patients when performing work. How is it that I am having work done on the left side of my mouth and when I awake from the procedure my ENTIRE mouth is cut up and my tongue had lacerations on the right side. He prescribes sedation pills so you are sleeping during the procedure and completely unaware of what is happening. It was only when the anesthesia wore off after I left his office did I realize how bad I was hurt. I feel like he did it

He may be an OK dentist but he is a horrible, horrible human being. Not only is he totally condescending and talks down to you, but appears to be suffering from the Dr. Jykell/Mr. Hyde syndrome and his mood swing is extreme. I feel sorry for the staff that works for him. Be kind to your patient, don't bully or belittle them. Don't pass judgement. That is not your place. Work on your bedside manners doc...it will go a long way.
PS - check your ego at the door....no room for it in your tiny/crammed office!

Ever since I realized how important my teeth and gums are to overall health I started to see Dr. Uchida and only him! I am not young anymore so being healthy is important to me.
Dr Uchida and his staff is very professional and welcoming, and shop is very clean. I always look forward to dentist appointments.
The parking lot behind is small but street parking is OK sometimes you just double park and hand keys to lovely ladies in front and they move the car for you if someone needs to leave.

Have been with this dentist for many many years and never experienced any issues. I moved further away from their Kailua location & decided to switch dentists & Smiles Forever treated me SO UNFAIRLY about it charging me $100 to release my records to the new dentist!! No loyalty or care whatsoever for a longtime patient who has given them NUMEROUS referrals. Beware when you sign up for this dentist they will hold you hostage via $100 if you move and need a dentist closer to where you live. So disappointed with this crooked business! I do not recommend them whatsoever

I had a constant struggle with crooked bottom teeth, which lowered my self esteem and made flossing a hassle. I've consulted Dr. Uchida about this problem since I first started seeing him in around 2012, and finally in 2018 he started doing braces! Fast braces, to be specific.
Fast braces work a lot faster than traditional braces, which is great for people that want straight teeth but don't want to have metal in their mouth for over a year.

I've always been mostly immune to novocaine, it wears off fast and my teeth never get numb... so I can feel everything when getting a cavity addressed.
Smiles Forever provided me with an option that no other dental office could on this island. Sedation dentistry allows me to have an extensive repair completed without feeling any pain or remembering much of the procedure.
The staff is amazing, friendly, and attentive. I'm sure I'll never look for another dentist and will probably bring my whole family here.

IF THE OPTION OF ZERO STARS WAS GIVEN,IT BE A BIG FAT ZERO!!!On the phone I was given a rough estimate of 2000$ for up and lower dentures, included in that was temp. Set till permanent set came in. I also stated that I'll take the regular denture set verses the implants. I went in and did my face exam, and was told complete opposite and that it cause 13000k to 50k if I went with all implants,I explained what I was told on the phone ,and asked the Dr that I have just normal up and down implants ,that's the plan I was given along with price on phone. Jessy, my Dental Hygienist was amazing! She let me know what each tool did so I knew what to expect, and she said I could raise my hand if anything hurt (but nothing did). She explained why I have gum recession and gave me a new understanding of my teeth.
As for the quote my previous dentist gave me, Smiles Forever assured me I have no cavities or work to get done! Many dentists try to sell

Per dr. Uchida and his wife Sara they said that they were not going to except me back as a patient because I missed 1 appt due to being in the hospital. They charged me about $40,000.00 for just a full mouth reconstruction and it wasn't even a good job. The bottom implant keeps on getting infected and is made out of cheap materials. They are a total rip off. I suggest everyone who needs a implant and full mouth reconstruction to find a better dentist then this. Rip off and there is no considerations.

Like many people, going to the dentist has not been my favorite thing to do. A few weeks ago a crown in the front of my mouth chipped and became loose. I was afraid that it would fall out, and given my occupation, that would not have been a good thing.

Smiles Forever in my opinion is the best dental office I have experienced. Dr. Uchida and his staff are very personable and offer superior service.
