Dental implants are a tooth replacement option for those who have lost their teeth. Dental implants take the place of missing teeth and help you maintain your oral health. Dental implants, also known as dental prosthetics, are made out of titanium and can be used to replace one or more teeth. Dental implants work by fusing with the jawbone so that they become stable in the mouth without moving around as dentures would do.

After graduating as Salutatorian from Kamehameha Schools in 1997, Dr. Asam attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Immediately following graduation from college, she went on to earn her degree in dentistry.
It's great news that the incidence of tooth decay has significantly diminished over the years due to the use of fluorides and an increase in patient awareness. However, teeth are still susceptible to decay, infection, and breakage and sometimes need to be restored back to health. Through improved techniques and modern technology, we are now able to offer more options for restoring a tooth back to its normal shape, appearance and function.
A composite (tooth colored) filling is used to repair a tooth that is affected by decay, cracks, fractures, etc. The decayed or affected portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite filling. There are many types of filling materials available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

Everyone here is wonderful! I did consultations all over, before choosing Dr Asam. I visited with many dentists, and out of all of them, she listened to my specific needs and took the time to explain things in detail.

Was dreading this painful surgery to prepare my jaw for implants. But Dr. Asam was very gentle, while being very fast, focused, and professional. I was astounded that the day of surgery I had no pain at all, and only minimal pain and swelling over the next couple of days. The staff stayed in close touch with me to make sure I was okay, and the delicate surgical beds in my gums healed remarkably fast! Am very impressed … and grateful!
