We have a full time veterinarian in residence on the premises, which allows us to provide both increased availability and round-the-clock care for your hospitalized pets. We have in-house laboratory testing capabilities, ultrasound technology, and modern radiology equipment, allowing rapid gathering of information to assist in diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis.

Services
At Kindness Animal Hospital we combine the most modern and up-to date knowledge and technology with a compassionate approach and integrated complementary medicine modalities. Our equipment includes Radiology and Ultrasound, Electrocardiography, Laser Therapy, In-House Blood Chemistry, Blood Count and Electrolyte Analyzers.
From Durango, take Highway 160 East past the Mall, past Wal-Mart and Home Depot, past the new hospital in Grandview. At the top of the hill just past the new hospital, turn Right at the stoplight, on Hwy 172, the "Airport Road." (There is a green sign with a white airplane on your right at the turn.)

I have been visiting Kindness Animal Hospital and Dr. Claire Lodhal for several years with several of my WPG hunting dogs.I have called several times with urgent care problems, they have always been ready, willing and able to assist me and my family of dogs. In my opinion Dr. Lodhal is very caring, professional and the best. Her staff is always exactly the same. If you are looking for a Veterianian that is responsive, professional, and truly cares Kindness Animal Hospital is the place. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Lodahl and her staff are friendly, compassionate, caring & extremely professional. We are traveling in our RV and staying in Bayfield. Our cat became very sick and they made sure she was seen the day we called! They were wonderful and took time to explain the next steps, procedures & medications to us after examining our cat. The next day Muffin was doing really well and we credit this animal hospital with saving her life! Their prices are fair, the team is efficient and instantly gained our confidence. We highly recommend this veterinary clinic!

Kindness is an understatement when working with Dr Lodahl and the staff at Kindness Animal Hospital! I was traveling in the area when my seven month old puppy became very ill. Even though Sweet Pea was not an existing patient, Dr Lodahl and staff Were caring, professional, thorough and timely in the treatment they gave. Without hesitation, I highly recommend kindness animal hospital!

Kindness animal hospital stopped everything they had scheduled to do emergency surgery on my unfortunate kitty cat. Good news, they are working tirelessly to finish all appointments for the day so no one will have to wait. Even better news, boots hasn't reached nine lives yet. I couldn't be more grateful for their prompt attention, understanding, and expertise. I arrived to a clean and comforting "farm house" location with plenty of parking and helpful staff. 5 stars well deserved.

We have had animals for some 70 years and have never encountered a vet with such a high regard for animals and a willingness to treat them. We were traveling from Florida when our little 12 year old peekapoo became very sick. We were in Cortez at the time and all clinics there refused to see her on an emergency basis offering appointments as far out as two weeks!! We called Kindness in Durango and was told to bring her right over. She waited an hour for us to get there and took her right in. She did an exam ,

It's so hard to find a good vet, and I have FINALLY found an AMAZING vet!
I took my dog here about 2 months ago as she had what I had self-diagnosed as eosinophilic plaque on the back of her throat. Normally, I don't "self-diagnose" but I had found a youtube video of someone and their dog experience the exact same symptoms and they had shared what the vet had diagnosed their dog with.
When I got to Kindness Animal Hospital, I had told the doctor that I'd done a lot of research and had finally figured out what might be going on. I had been prepared to leave my dog there

The best vet clinic experience I have ever had. Technologically up-to-date with old fashioned kindness, warmth, compassion, and healing. Dr. Lodahl is nothing short of a Godsend. My feeling is that she practices veterinarian medicine because she is truly passionate about the well-being of animals, in the same vein, I wouldn't hesitate to say that she is one of the most honest veterinarians I've ever come across. Her rates are affordable and transparent. I only wish I lived in Durango so she could be my animals full time vet.

This place was amazing! I have had my dog since he was a puppy. They told me he had pneumonia when he was born so when I got him, he was taking penicillin for his pneumonia. He was constantly throwing up, coughing phlegmy stuff up, diarrhea, etc. we went through 4 rounds of antibiotics and steroids and nothing was working. I had gone to numerous vets spent around $5000 trying to figure out what was wrong by taking X-ray after X-ray and trying all these bizarre techniques and no one could tell me what was wrong with him.... until I moved to Durango and found out about kindness animal hospital. As always Dr Lodahl and her staff are knowledgable, caring, efficient and fantastic! Their kindness and concern is always evident even when they are overwhelmed with patients.
Our Manx cat was born with born with a front and back paw missing. His back paw had bone protruding and was impossible for him to walk on. Dr Lodahl devised a surgical plan that had never been done before and excited it perfectly! Now he uses his back foot to walk and jump!
Dr Lodahl and her staff are the best in 3 states!!! If you love your animals then this is the vet to take them to! They ROCK!
