Ecujimo Upholstery
Our founder grew up in a small village in Ecuador where he learned this trade from his father, a shoemaker and car upholsterer. Today, his dedication and eye for even the smallest details make him one of the best, few remaining upholsterers in the country. In his small but beloved shop in Brookline, he hopes to bring your design vision to life.

We work with individual clients, designers, and various businesses to upholster interior/exterior furniture. We offer various types of fabric like vinyl and fire-code passing fabrics, but you can also bring your own.

They are a wonderful service oriented local business. They did a great job on my 4 dining room chairs-both the upholstery and tightening up the chairs- had a lot of use the last 18 months working from my dining room table and were in very sad shape. They look beautiful and are now very comfortable! Lots of fabrics to choose from or bring your own.
Very competitive pricing, quick turnaround, and the owner is a real pleasure to work with.

You can't find a better upholstery service. Over several months, I gave Ecujimo my 6 dn. rm. chairs, 2 lv. rm. chairs, and my desk chair for reupholstering. The results were perfectly professional. There are dozens of upholstery fabric books in its workshop, but Jorge encourages you to look elsewhere, too. No attitude. When your job is finished, you'll get a text message with a photo of your beautiful new chair. When Jorge says he will pick up/deliver at your home at 8:30 am, you can set your clock by it. It was a pleasure to deal with him.

Olger at Ecujimo's is usually in the front of the shop and someone is always available to help walk-ins. They were kind enough to drop off our chairs and everything came out beautifully. We have used them for several dozen pieces, vinyl, leather, and fabric - all of them came out great.

I brought in two of my couch cushions that needed new inserts. I could not be happier with their work. My couch looks beautiful! When I picked up the cushions today they let me know they would keep my old ones for a few days just in case I was not happy with the results. Their customer service is absolutely incredible!!!!!

I wanted to have my needlepoint project made into a pillow and the owner of Ecujimo was enthusiastic about helping me even though this must have been a small project to fit in. What he produced surpassed my expectations and demonstrated craftsmanship and care. I know if such effort was taken with a pillow that a piece of furniture would be in very good hands.

After using Ecujimo myself to reupholster a chair, I have recommended them to several of our Move Maven clients, and each time he has exceeded expectations. I was worried when I saw their old storefront empty, but was delighted to find out they had just moved to a new location on Washington St. in Brookline Village. Olger, who I believe is the owner, is a master craftsman, and a very nice person!

I was not going to review. I came to this site to find out Olger's name so I could tell my brother. Then I saw the two poor reviews and I had to respond. Both complain Ecujimo' Upholstery didn't do the work and one complains that family members write the reviews. Well, I am not a family member. I've met Olger three times: when I dropped the first chair off (June 2017), when I dropped the second chair off (October 2017), and when I picked them both up (November 2017). The first time he was candid that he was all backed up. Then I was laissez-faire in getting back to him with

Wish I could include before & after photos-the work Ecujimo did is that incredible! I can't imagine giving this company a bad review. I first met them when I went into their old location to compliment the GORGEOUS work they do. Everything in the windows always looked amazing. I have an antique high-back chair that was my great-grandmother's. It is well over 100 years old. Not only had the fabric worn down, but the wood legs were scratched and the springs were gone. I emailed photos of the chair to Ecujimo, and they walked me through how much fabric to purchase, and what they

We had a family heirloom furniture made of rosewood from two decades ago which came with loose cushions. The cushions and the fabric broke down over time. We had Ecujimo design new cushions with new fabric (chosen from his catalog). His attention to detail is incredible. His new cushions with custom covers fit our old furniture better than the original cushions that it came with. For instance, he noticed that there was a slight asymmetry in the furniture which he used to his advantage. He also added a rope (?) like embellishment to the cushions which added intrigue to the design.

He is very friendly

I am an architect and have used Ecujimo's for several projects of my own and for clients. I have been extremely happy with work and would recommend him highly. He does get busy, works long hours, and things can take awhile, so make sure you talk about any timing constraints.

I called to find out how much it would cost to reupholster my chair. The man who answered asked me to email him photos of the chair, which I did the very same day. I did not hear back after a few days so I called and left a message. I did not hear back again so I emailed asking for a return call to let me know either way if he was going to do the work for me. He never responded. I was looking forward to working with him based on the yelp reviews, but I'm not sure why he never bothered responding to me in any way.

Too many of their family members trying to give this place a good rating. They take the fabric and never do the job. They spend more time bragging on themselves then actually doing any work. Go someplace professional.

I just had my chairs reupholstered here and he did a fantastic job. This
man takes pride in his work and it shows!
Free pick up and delivery as well.
I will plan on having my dining room chairs done at some point too.
Reasonably priced and perfection of the job makes this place a real gem!

I found a gem when I found Ecujimo and it was 1/3 mile from my house! I had brought in a beaten down chaise, with the material, and with expectations that were not very high. What I picked-up was a gorgeous piece - stripes painstakingly matched and an extra pillow (totally unexpected freebee) - delivered free to my house.

Next, I brought him a wacky project for a headboard and he "nailed it". Olger saved me extra yardage, and still the stripes lined-up perfectly (I guess that I like stripes...)

Olger has also produced outdoor seating upholstery, which I had priced at Frugal Fannie

I didn't think they had shops like this anymore - a place that does excellent work, faster than the original time estimate, at a reasonable price and by the nicest guy, Olger, that you can imagine. Olger even talked me out of what would have been a very expensive and, it turns out, unnecessary refinishing job on the rocking chair I brought to him. He touched up the the finish, tightened up all he joints, repaired some splits in the wood, replaced the decades-old cushion and reupholstered it. The chair looks beautiful. I look forward to working with Olger again and can't recommend

I was so pleased with the thorough professional job that Olger did on the three upholstered pieces he refurbished for me. He kept us up to date on progress, made strong and thoughtful recommendations for materials to be used and delivered exquisite work. He is the best.
