Do you ever eat food from one restaurant and compare it to another? It's not bad food but it leaves me wanting something... It makes me wish the chefs had a little more finesse with their art. The little extra artistry make ok food into great food. As in tossing the gnocchi in a skillet with some butter after its out of the boiler but before you plate it. Also making sure what you order makes it on the plate.... Forgetting the artichoke french on my dish isn't cool. Details is what makes thing great.

First time in here! Our server was so sweet! I ordered Artichoke French as a meal! I couldn’t believe how big the “side portion” of pasta was! Didn’t have wine tonight but looking forward to coming back to have a glass of Vino with my meal! Great wine selection! Love the atmosphere! The Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin on the radio really added to the experience! Support local!

I never write reviews, but tonight's takeout definitely warrants a 5 start review!
This is our third time ordering takeout and every time it's been amazing. My husband claims they have the best parm in Rochester (trust me when I say he has tried every parm in town). The greens and beans, arancinis and eggplant parm were also delicious. And when we asked for extra bread, they sure did accommodate us!
Overall, great service, amazing food and priced very reasonable compared to other Italian takeout.

July 2021: Rosey's is always a family favorite... :) Take out\pick up a couple + times a month in addition to catered items items for special family events.. a quick take out tonight though.. .. the chx vegetable soup (never had before) was awesome... not too salty, just enough veggies/pasta, and not overly spiced... loved it.. added a few sprinkles of my own paremesean. perfect! I stopped in to Rosey's Italian Cafe looking for a quick bite while driving through Penfield. The friendly staff recommended the chicken parmesan sandwich, so I ordered it to go. It was a good portion and was served hot and fresh. I was most impressed by the flavorful red sauce, and think it was the best pasta sauce I've had in a long time. This is a hidden gem, and I will certainly try it again.

Disappointing, the server was polite, but the food has gone downhill. I used to enjoy Rosey's but it just doesn't have the friendly welcome and atmosphere it used to have a few years ago. I have taken larger groups there and had great food and service, sad to say not anymore. Like all things perhaps it has run it course.

Cozy , but loud. Good menu options for a Western New York Italian Cafe/Bistro.

Overall a touch disappointing, a number of things could have been better, but nothing egregious. Just a bit more like a diner than a cafe, and a bit bland or missing some touches that would put it into four star territory.
A couple examples - the beer list was VERY generic so I code the lemonade thinking , well that could be good ? the lemonade was from a mix- reminiscent of a institution - not to say jail or hospital - awful!
The Caesar salad was a vinaigrette

My wife and I have been going to Rosey's since it opened. Even though I'm Cuban, I grew up in the city of Rochester having many Italian friends from I can accredit my colorful euphemisms when I lose my temper. I had meals at their homes so I'm pretty familiar with the smells and tastes of Italy. There is no reason to lose your temper when dining or ordering takeout from Rosey. This wonderful place is old-school Italian cooking and portions. Covid 19 has ruined the wonderful opportunity of getting whacked in the face with the wonderful smells of the kitchen. We just had a takeout dinners from Roseys Cafe. This is the first time that we have been there. I ordered the Veal Parmesan .My husband had the Meatball Tunnel. Both meals were absolutely delicious!! We will now be regular customers of this place. We both are raving about our meals. I think we will be back Friday for a Fish fry.

This is a little restaurant tucked into a tiny strip mall that s absolutely wonderful.
Their food tastes like your Italian grandmother made it back home in her kitchen. I highly recommend stopping by (you'll need a reservation so that they can ensure C19 mandates are upheld) or grabbing takeout with curbside service.

My husband and I moved to Penfield during COVID and found this place through yelp thanks to all the great reviews - it has not disappointed! We have gotten takeout now 4x and every time has been amazing. The lasagna is what keeps us coming back (photo attached) but the chicken and artichokes French, which I tried for the first time tonight, is also to die for. I can't wait to dine in someday - if the takeout is this fantastic I can't imagine what it's like fresh! 5 stars

We ordered takeout here a and the service and food were very good. The food was ready quickly after ordering. They brought the order right to the car and had things packaged up nicely. I got the stuffed shells and they were great and the red sauce was very good. My wife got the chicken and artichoke french combo and it was nice and lemony and delicious.

With all that's going in the world. We decided to order take out from a restaurant we had never eaten from before. We weren't disappointed here. The food was awesome and enough to feed an army. I was craving chicken french and this was truely delicious.( I normally very picky about it) They give you lots of the juice which I love, the pasta doesnt get dry. And it's so big it's a meal fit for 2. My husband loved his chicken alfredo and also has some for tomorrow. Dont let that garlic bread foul ya! It was awesome! I dont think I could get food here again without that bread. And

Sauce was good. I liked it a lot... and ate a lot because the kids unfortunately did not - they have gotten used to that sweet fake sauce from that restaurant with unlimited fillers like salad and breadstick.

Yum!! We picked up a wonderful Saturday night dinner from Rosey's, heroically still open during this quarantine. We placed our order through Yelp for later evening pick up, and they made it so easy. The staff wear masks and gloves and bring your order to your car, os they make sure everyone is protected while also able to support their establishment.

It seems the best Italian restaurants combine great homemade food with making you feel like family. We remember Mama Rosa's from Norton st in the city and this place is derived from there. Mama Rosa's was always happy to see you. This place seems like it can't wait for you to leave.

Omg this is our 3rd and never last...Tonight I had to ba bang shrimp And I'm still raving about it and on top of that I had their lasagna and their sauce is definitely second to none it is phenomenal.
We both had a glass of wine it was like a half a bottle each. LOL
My fiancé had a side salad that was huge and then she had a egg plant Appetizer Which was like five beautiful thin pieces just exactly like she likes it, It look like a meal to me.. And she had rigatoni's with oil.
