Our approach is to improve balance of the whole person through a combination of hands-on therapeutic approaches, proper movement education and therapeutic exercises. We are all unique individuals, therefore, your treatment plan will be tailored to your specific goals. Like many physical therapists, my first introduction to the career came after I sustained an injury.

I was serving in the Army at the time and broke my leg. I was very fortunate at that time to receive outstanding physical therapy and recovered completely. Actually, due to the expertise of my physical therapist, I was faster competing in triathlons than before this serious injury. This experience provided the inspiration to combine two of my passions - giving back to the community and sports - into a career.

I have been working with Jon for multiple weeks and am both comfortable and confident he does what is in the best interest of his patients. I give Jon my highest recommendation if you need PT work and his massage therapist (Allison) does a great job also! After struggling with tendonitis and arthritis for quite some time, I gave up on doing any kind of strength training.
Pain is the most common reason for seeking medical care. It is also the most common reason why people choose our physical therapy practice for help. If you are considering physical therapy for pain, this information can help. Acute pain is common with tissue damage that may occur with a ligament sprain, a muscle or tendon strain, inflammation within a joint, or a tear of a muscle, tendon, or meniscus.
Joint pain is discomfort or pain in any part of where two or more bones meet to form a joint including cartilage and bone within the joint or ligaments, tendons, muscles and bursae surrounding the joint. It is usually caused by damage resulting from normal wear and tear. Tendon Strain - over-stretching or tearing of a tendon (tissue connecting muscle to bone).

I was diagnosed with tendinitis in my heel recently and it got to the point that every step I took involved some degree of pain. While other physical therapists were recommended by the ortho I saw, Jon was the only PT I considered. He helped my daughter work through a tricky high ankle sprain two years ago and I saw firsthand his holistic patient approach at that time. I was able to get in right away, and Jon attentively listened to all of my symptoms, asked me all kinds of lifestyle questions, watched my natural stride, I could go on and on. The steroid I was prescribed was part of my treatment

I recently had my left knee replaced and had physical therapy with Jon. He was very thorough and positive with my progress. Jon did a nice job listening to my concerns and encouraged my growth. I truly feel Jon is to be credited for my quick recovery. Also, scheduling was easy as Jon is very flexible.

Big Luke Johnson had an injury in late 2020 that required some rehabilitation for a couple reasons - to try and get him back into the game for his last season of high school swimming, and to make sure there’s be no long-term negatives that Luke would have to live with down the road. Luke was a patient of Jon late 2020 into early 2021. I joined Luke for many of his visits to see Jon. I grew up with a PT as my father, so I’ve been around an excellent therapist. Here’s what I can say about my experience with Jon in his treatment of Luke: he’s very knowledgeable, he’s very thorough, and I

I recently underwent a left knee surgery and my physician assistant recommended I do some research to find a quality physical therapist. After reading a number of patient reviews I decided to contact Jon Schultz at Optimum Performance Physical Therapy. This was a very good selection. I’ve underwent several surgeries in the past (Shoulder, wrist, knee) and have dealt with multiple physical therapists in the past and Jon is hands down the best I've worked with. He is very competent and compassionate who has invested in high-end equipment that helped me recover quickly. Additionally I had a chronic

When my daughter had shoulder pain from competitive swimming, I had her work with Jon at Optimum Performance PT.. He quickly assessed the source of pain and developed a comprehensive plan to get her safely back in the pool. He is passionate about working with athletes, especially swimmers, and has the specialized equipment and expertise to quickly resolve pain. My daughter has enjoyed working with Jon and her times have also consistently improved due to his rehabilitation. Jon understands what it takes to improve sports performance while also preventing injuries from improper training. I highly

We met Jon years ago and he helped get my daughter, Maggie, healthy after an injury prone AAU season. My son has also been working with Jon on his knee issues using the Breathbelt and dynamic warm ups. Jon is excellent at getting to the underlying cause of the injury (not just treatment and rehab). He has a special focus on posture, alignment and movement patterns. My kids have benefited greatly from Jon's thorough and very personal assessments of them and he continues to be an active part of their athletic careers.

I’m going to ditto what many others have said here. Jon is professional, knowledgeable, and caring! He is passionate in applying his experience and knowledge to make a positive shift in lives!
I’ve had my fair share of physical therapist experiences over the years, but have yet to run into someone like Jon. He’s years of experience and knowledge shines through with his neuroscience approach to the body, striving to determine the root cause of pain and inflammation. After gathering my history, he suspected the root cause, of which I thought he was crazy, but I thought to myself, roll with

I contacted Jon after I injured my back and wasn’t finding any relief after a couple of weeks of rest. As an active person I was feeling very down in the dumps and eager to get back into my routine. Jon was very empathetic and I knew immediately how passionate Jon was about getting me back on my feet. Working with Jon was an amazing experience as he provided me with options and several tools so that I could better take care of myself long term. I am grateful our paths crossed and I would highly recommend Jon. I wonderful experience to say the least!

Professional, knowledgeable, caring, accommodating and thorough. My daughter was experiencing acute pain in her shoulder just days before the start of the Iowa Girls State Basketball Tournament. Jon quickly evaluated the situation and put together a plan focused on pain relief and the ability to perform her best against the best. He worked entirely around her schedule and put her in the best possible position to be successful. Highly recommend Jon and Optimum Performance for your PT needs.

As a triathlete, parent of a competitive swimmer, and a physical therapist myself, I know how important it is to have a PT who really understands the mechanics of a sport as specialized as swimming. When a friend called me highly upset that his competitive swimmer may have a season ending injury, I knew exactly where to send them. Jon was able to see them quickly and not only came up with a rehab plan for the injury, but also helped them with a plan to build fitness and improve in other areas! The family (& swimmer) were so thankful they were able to see someone like Jon who has a comprehensive
