I absolutely LOVE all the staff! The front desk is SO friendly and accommodating. And Julie and Dr. G are absolutely the best - they are so funny and really are genuine and great at what they do. They make going to the dentist enjoyable! I have never been pushed into any expensive treatment, and they've really taken the time to figure out what my smile needs.
If you're not absolutely in love with your dental practice, I highly recommend you check out Shield Dental Care in Burke! I've been a patient there for more than a year now, and am so impressed with them. They have weekend hours (which is so helpful for me as a working mom), and much better technology than other local dental practices I've tried.
Dr. Ghorbani is top of the line! He has done a bunch of dental work for me recently and he did an amazing job. He is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He always gives you all the details of what he is doing and why. He managed my pain well during two oral surgeries and is very caring and sympathetic.
First from the phone call to make the appointment, to the reception the moment we stepped in, to the cleaning and examination, and to the handling of the financial aspect of future services. Each staff took time to listen to our questions and answer them in detail. We appreciate the explanation of how the insurance discount works/or doesn't work in our situation so we know ahead of time what the charges to expect.
Welcoming and courteous staff. Very professional. They do great work and communicate with the customer throughout the exam and treatment process. Confusion over dental insurance and fear of dental costs has been directly linked to avoiding the dentist. To make matters worse, dental insurance is not an easy topic to tackle for anyone.

I had my two teeth filling and temporary crown appointment today with Dr. Ghorbani for the first time and I found him a honest Gentleman, experienced, confident to his practice and He has a team working professionally by his side in this hygienic clinic. I was having discomfort with a tooth, called Shield Dental Care this morning (my husband had gone there and had received excellent care) and was seen this morning as a first-time patient without a scheduled appointment. Amazing! Everyone in the office was friendly, kind and patient. The office is welcoming and I felt that all COVID protections were being taken. One of the dental hygienists treated the problem. I left the office with confidence that I received excellent care. I am very happy that I found this wonderful dental practice!

I have been going to Shield Dental for years. Dr. Ghorbani and his staff are the best you can ask for. The office is so clean and modern, making each visit enjoyable. I’m always able to make same-day appointments for emergencies and the team does everything they can to make sure we are comfortable. My daughter is currently going through a major dental issue as a result of a trauma to her front tooth and Dr. Ghorbani is personally invested in making sure her smile remains beautiful. I’ve never had a dentist that could give me a Novocain shot that I didn’t feel. The quality of Dr. G’s work and his chair side manner is exceptional. It’s not often people enjoy their visits to the dentist, but I always have a good laugh with Dr. G and his staff . He’s always very accommodating of my schedule, which is why I still travel two hours to visit him for my dental care.

Doctor was reasonable, treatment goals seemed conservative and not trying to find things to do to charge for. REALLY appreciated the hygienist, Chelsea. She did an amazing job, the best cleaning I’ve ever had. Almost no pain despite a lot of tartar removal, and my teeth looked AMAZING after she was done.

Love Dr. G and everyone at this practice! It's worth the drive from DC, every time. I've had a bunch of work with Dr. G and everything has been first class, best quality. Plus he's very personable, caring and explains everything thoroughly. Everyone who works at the practice, hygienists, front desk, admin and everyone else is very friendly and extremely competent. This place is the essence of professionalism. Everyone who works there is just lovely and Dr. Ghorbani is an expert at what he does and really passionate about keeping you looking and feeling great. If you have serious issues I highly recommend this place as I had two dental surgeries after an injury and he did a wonderful job. The office is beautiful, clean and very relaxing and the dental hygienists are also very talented and gentle with the teeth cleaning! Can not recommend enough!

I switched to this dental practice this March because my previous dentist, whom I saw for about two years, was extremely focused on drumming up new business and, more importantly, seemed to find a suspiciously large amount of work I needed done (compared to my long-time previous dentist; I am blessed with excellent teeth). Best dentist in the Burke area hands down. Top to bottom thisnis a class A place. I have been to about 4 other dentist in the Burke area and this place blows them all away. I am terrified of dental work, but just had an extraction and implant done here and it was about as painless as can be done. My wife had a deep root cleaning and said the same thing. The staff is great, and the office manager sits down and works with you. We are moving out to Gainesville soon but I will be coming into Burke to go to Shield dental.

Very impressive dental office! The hygienist was wonderful and very non-judgmental. The dentist used state-of-the-art techniques to fill my cavity. I couldn’t believe how quickly he finished! I’m really excited to recommend this office to my friends. It is handicap accessible and there is a free parking lot with plenty of spaces.

Unfortunately, they're not the ones who would have to take care of my primary dental needs. Dr. Ghorbani spent only 5 minutes between looking at my xrays and talking to me. He did not seem interested in listening to my concerns, and even seemed hurried. He didn't even seem confident he could do the root canal because my mouth is small. I have been with Shield Dental since they opened and am very happy with the care I have recieved. Dr. Ghorbani is very skilled and is very honest about what type of treatment you need. There is never any up-selling. He will discuss thoroughly with you what needs to be done and will listen to your concerns. The office staff are friendly and professional. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. So far I have enjoyed my experience with Shield Dental Care and Dr. Ghorbani! If you are afraid of the dentist or have anxiety associated with the dentist this is a great choice because you can watch Netflix during your exam. I usually hate the dentist but I really like and trust this office.

Dentist recommendation: I just came to Shield Dental Care with Dr. Pejman Ghorbani based on Yelp reviews and let me just say it is an awesome facility, great staff and dentist and just a family feel. They will play Netflix during your work which is a nice distraction. I sent my husband when he had something awful happen in his mouth and my 17 year old and all are pleased. I had the unfortunate experience of chipping a tooth today, coupled with the poor timing of it being the afternoon of Thanksgiving-eve. I called my regular dentist office, whom said they were full and recommended I call a different, near-by office.
