Services
Murray's Fabrics is a 3rd generation owned family business; now in 2017 our 71st year. Opened by the current owner's maternal grandmother, run by his parents until early 2000, and now by Mr. Wordell. Mr. Wordell has worked in the business since childhood and started repairing sewing machines at his father's side at the age of 12.
We require your power cord, foot control, bobbin case (if not built in) a bobbin, and regular zig zag foot attached (unless it is just a straight stitch machine). You are welcome to bring your machine into the store and have it checked in for repair. This completed Work Order Form is required to be attached to your machine when it's dropped off for contact free service.
Murray's classes require a minimum of 3 and limit classes to a maximum of 6 students, unless other specified. Without exception, payment in full is required. If we have less than the minimum enrollment three business days before the class start date, class will be canceled. If you need to cancel class, please inform us at least 10 days before the class to receive your full refund.

Brought my wife to Murray's to check out the sewing machines and have her 20 year old Elna serviced. OMG What a selection of sewing machines! And the owner Bill is awesome! Third generation owner, knows the market, products and features. Really knows these machines and tunes the buying experience to the buyers specific needs. Things have changed a lot, many options. If you're not sure what you need, go see Bill. No high pressure sales, just plenty of great information and choices to choose from.

This is my “go to” fabric store, and I’m spoiled rotten having it so close by! They have a wonderful selection of quilting fabrics, and all the different sewing notions I might need for various projects. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable, able to offer advice. They also have assisted with repairing my sewing machine. Highly recommended

I was in dire need to patch my jeans before a hole developed in them, and my mom recommended Murray's. Stopped by and was able to get 3 sets of 2 patches for $8. The lady working the front desk was super helpful, and when we were in the store it looks like they have a plethora of different sewing machines, and fabrics if you're interested in quilting.

Great local fabric store! The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Wonderful sewing classes- if you're a beginner you're shown step by step how to complete your project. If you're a pro, there's always a very cool project to challenge your skills. So grateful to have this resource in our community!

Needed supplies. Did not want to travel all the way to Hyannis to shop at a large retail outlet. They were not only friendly, but also very helpful in answering questions and giving me guidance on how best to complete my project. They had everything I needed. Would not have been as successful without their assistance.
When I realized I had drastically over purchased a few items, they handled it with the same friendly and courteous manner.

I loved this shop the first time I visited there. Two days later I saw a job posted and applied for the position and I now work here and thoroughly enjoy it. The owner, Bill, is extremely knowledgeable about all the sewing machines we carry. We also service all these machines and more. The only machines we do not service are industrial sewing machines.

I read some other reviews and kind of wonder if they are taking about the same place. We recently bought a sewing machine there and had a very good experience. Helpful staff, all questions answered, nice selection, etc. Now we're looking forward to the intro class which is INCLUDED with our purchase. AND they have a great buy-back program if we want to upgrade in the future.

I discovered this wonderful fabric quilt shop while vacationing on Cape Cod this summer...
They have a large selection of interesting fabrics and I found a collection to use for my new quilt! Their staff was friendly and very helpful. I will look forward to visiting again sometime when I get to go to the other coast again ( I live on the Pacific coast)! I just hope they still have some of the fabric I purchased because I didn't get enough.

I drove down to Murray's just because of the 2014 Massachusetts Row by Row Experience, a National Quilting Shop Hop. They have an awesome row and I was so looking forward to checking out the store as we go thru Orleans a few times a year. The shop had run out of the license plate, short on pattern instructions, and low on the kits for the row.
While there are an amazing array of fabrics and one of the sales people was very friendly and upbeat. The one who waited on me was not. If it was only for their attitude I would not return to this shop. But hubby is very much into Hoffman Fabrics and

Just left Murrys...the nicest friendliest most helpful people work there!!! So refreshing to be treated so well. I'm sad I've already forgotten her name :/ because she deserves the recognition! But this wonderful lady helped me for about an hour looking over a very old serger that I came across the other day. So much patience and gave me the most helpful advice regarding my sewing project. I'm truly grateful and will give Murrys all of my future sewing business for as long as I am on the Cape!
