Still my favorite restaurant on the planet! Dining at Bar Bouchee is consummately classy and welcoming. The front-of-house experience is amazing, and I always love when SHANE describes his cocktail special and waits with bated breath to see if we loved it (we always do). The food is incredible. I can't get enough of it. So good.

Forever a go to for a special dinner, but more so now during Covid Winter. We go just because we can and it's a pleasure to dine and feel cared for. The attention to detail and the exquisite presentation of every course causes a sense of elation not found at very many food establishments as of late. Place your reservations early, as it is an intimate setting and much sought after.

We love Bar Bouchee, and have never had a bad experience. The service is impeccable starting with the greeting on entering, like and old friend. The craft cocktails are delightful, and the food is always cooked to perfection.

What a wonderful experience! Atmosphere had a great vibe and felt like a real escape from the everyday. Service was impeccable. Christina was wonderful, with a great humor, in-depth knowledge of the food and beverages, and definitely charmed us. Beverages were right on target including the espresso, falls bees knees and the wines. Food with perfectly prepared and presented. We enjoyed The Fennel and leek soup, local oysters, pan roast French chix breast, and the poached halibut special. We shared two desserts that finished the night perfectly. Prices were right on par and fair. Thank you so much

Upscale French bistro with a limited but delicious menu and great serving staff.
A large selection of wines by the glass and a tons of unique-ish cocktails.
We had the salmon escalope, beef, and oysters as well as parsnip soup. In my opinion the parsnip soup should’ve had a bit of pepper or other spice but that’s my personal opinion and I was the only one at the table that thought that.

I appreciated the outdoor dining during this covid pandemic. The night was pleasantly cool. The restaurant provided outdoor heating, which was very nice. However, it did get uncomfortably hot. I still think it's great to have the outdoor heaters, though. The food was very good. Service was top notch.

Really lovely little spot. You were on the new England shoreline but you feel like you have escaped to France for the evening. We went for our anniversary and had a lovely dinner. Started with a yummy ginger martini so good I could've had three. My husband tried another special day cocktail and enjoyed it. I had to have the escargot and they were perfect with garlic and butter. We each had fish for dinner. I had the trout and it was light and fresh delicious. We split the chocolate cake for dessert and it melted in your mouth. It was a weeknight and they did quite a business. The outdoor seating

We have wanted to try this quaint restaurant for quite sometime and, unfortunately, we are kicking ourselves for not doing so sooner! Everything was perfect, from being greeted and seated to dessert! We will for sure be back!

The finest restaurant on the shoreline. Fine food, dinks and wine in a casual Parisian setting. This is our "date night" go-to spot.

Ate at the bar. Interesting folks, some incredibly self absorbed. Food was beautiful and the wine list slim but excellent. Loved the place and will be happy to return.

First time here - unassuming quality. Small venue with small tables but don't let that fool you - the food quality is phenomenal. Chef prepared meals, using locally sourced ingredients results in quality meals and feel-good vibes. Reason for 4 stars is for the 'tight' tables and space. But the food and service is hands-down 5 stars. Steak tartare was delicious, served with hand-cut and freshly-made potato chips. The charcuterie board, at $18, was a bit pricey for what you get - 4 slices of: chorizo, salami, French ham, with homemade mustard, fig jam and one pickle. (There

One of those places that transport you. Once inside you forget you are in the US.
The table service is excellent and cordial, very knowledgeable and helping you get the best option.
We went for an anniversary but will go back for sure with no special occasion other than eating ad enjoying being there.

This is an unusual review, because I have not had the pleasure of dining here yet. My story is that a good friend eats there often, so to surprise her for her birthday I called Bar Bouchée to ask if I could set up a way to pay for a bottle of wine for them the next time they came in. Three weeks later, my friend and her husband dined there and the owner remembered and applied their wine to my card as a gift. I doubt many restaurants would be so accommodating. Thank you so much, ou merci beaucoup, je dois dire!

Excellent choice for authentic French cuisine. We started with a ginger martini and an old fashioned. Both delicious.
Then had escargot and the beet salad for appetizers.
So so good. For the main course ,
Hangar steak with potatoes at gratin, and scallops pan seared over English peas and carrots with a touch of ham. For dessert, the profiteroles were perfect and perfectly done.
To top it all off Jacque Pepin showed up with several chefs and ate there in the patio! You can't get more French than that!
Can't wait to come back!

Dinner last night started off great. I ordered the special monk fish it came to the table with a cold center. Set it back and they microwaved it and sent back to me without apologizing as well as offering to take it off the bill. French egotistical chef will ruin this business.

Just had dinner to celebrate my birthday. It was my first time at this restaurant and I was not disappointed. Such an amazing experience from start to finish. Besides the amazing food and service, my favorite aspect was the restaurant atmosphere. It honestly felt like we entered a time machine when we walked through the front door. It transformed my mindset and location of my brain to France. Like Ernest Hemingway could be penning a novel there. Such a cool place!

I will give 3.5. We ordered braised duck leg, mushroom soup special and lamb shank special--I was not particularly impressed. I didn't like sitting near the kitchen because of the noise. The interior is OK but far from French fine dining. The service is good though.
