Our school of dance is in its 19th year and offers a complete program for both the young and the young at heart. At Second Steps Studio we care about our students and their health. It is important for tiny bones and joints to have a floor that absorbs and distributes energy and impact. A dance floor system enhances performance and greatly reduces injury.

Paula Remsen, new owner of Second Steps Dance Studio, has locally taught for the past nine years. She started dancing as a young girl, was part of a dance company throughout high school, and later joined the University of Mississippi dance company.

Here at Second Steps Studio, not only do we instruct dance and dance technique, we also strive to instill character, self- confidence, poise, and lasting friendships. Paula has been dancing since she was a young girl. Competing in ballet at the early age of six, life has come full circle and she is now fulfilling the dream of owning her own studio.
To introduce your child to the world of dance, there is no better way than to do it together. Enjoy a class that incorporates music, fun, and helping your child to socialize within a group setting. First step into becoming a tiny ballerina in a structured ballet environment. Student's will focus on learning the basic steps of ballet, while also meeting and making new friends.
This is an Intensive class that is designed to prevent injury, and concentrates on building correct muscle groups used when on pointe. This is a required class for students wishing to move up to pointe. A new Addition to our studio. If you have ever dreamed of blending hip hop, lyrical and theatrical dance together then this is the class for you.
