I'm Dr. Hough from Hough Chiropractic in Fountain Valley. You are likely visiting this site because you have pain. A complex subject to be sure but for the vast majority of those that seek my help the problem lies within the neuro-musculo-skeletal systems. By that I mean the spine as well as every joint in your body, the nervous system and the muscles and supporting soft tissues.
Myofascial release is treatment of skeletal muscle mobility (or immobility). Fascia is the thin, strong, elastic connective tissue that wraps and covers most of the human body including your muscles. Scar tissue tightening of the fascia can result in loss of mobility or even pain. Myofascial release can assist in regaining that mobility through, stretching, "scraping", or massaging of the fascia to regain it's flexibility.
Pain syndromes are often multifactorial, that is there are multiple issues and often they all have to be addressed for the best outcomes. I use what I consider to be the best Chiropractic has to offer in correcting the spine and spinal misalignments and I also use the best in soft tissue release techniques.
The soft tissues, that is the muscles, ligaments, tendons, and fascia, are often the cause of many painful conditions. Injuries and overuse syndromes create scar tissue (fibrosis) and myofascial adhesions. Scar tissue is laid down in an irregular pattern, it is thinner, weaker, less elastic and permanently more pain sensitive.
Decompressing the lumbar spine using a powerful ambulatory traction device almost always provides immediate relief from low back pain that originates from an injured or bulging disc. This is a device I've used successfully for over 25 years with amazing results. Pain syndromes often have more than one component but nearly all have spinal misalignments and soft tissue issues that should be addressed first.

This was a great experience. Not just another Chiropractor. Most bring you in, lay you down and crack your back and neck and tell you your adjusted and come back next week. I’ve been having low back pain near my pelvis for a little over a year. I had gotten into a car accident where the other driver t-boned me and I got a hernia from that with a 4mm fissure. I went to a previous chiropractor while the case was still open, but it didn’t fully help heal me.
Not only was I without a car but I had horrible back pain. It sometimes caused me to be bed-ridden from how much it hurt. I had to wobble and would just struggle to get up. The pain eventually went down my leg more as well.

Let me start by saying I am a 74 year old male who has never before gone to a Chiropractor. But in recent months I have started to experience sever pain in my lower back, legs and shoulders. I just had the best experience I've ever had at a chiropractor and I've seen more than ten. I just saw Dr. Hough for the first time due to a rotator cuff injury. For nine months I've been getting weekly physical therapy with little improvement. ONE TREATMENT from Dr. Hough gave me more range of motion and relief than all those PT treatments combined. Dr. Hough's treatment of my back, neck and has been life changing. I was in a car accident in late December 2020. After each treatment I immediately feel pain relief. I can sleep through the night without waking up in pain. My right shoulder was the worst and I'm able to sleep on my right side again. Dr. Hough is kind, thoughtful, passionate about health, and dedicated to his practice. I would recommend him to anyone who has chronic pain.

Dr. Hough has been treating me for over 15 years now and he has made such a difference in my overall health. He is more than a Fantadtic Chiropractor, he is a Health Expert! Best chiropractor in OC!! I broke my neck 12 years ago and figured I would have to live with the pain and arthritis in my neck for the rest of my life. Dr. Hough saved me a few years ago. I had a sports-related injury and I could not feel my left arm for almost two months. The feeling was slowly returning and my primary care physician said it would just take time to heal. I went to Dr. Hough and it was 90% better in ONE treatment. He does not do any "cracking" or sharp adjustments. His methods are gentle but effective. After 3 treatments it was totally normal. I have been going to him ever since for injury prevention and quality of life. He is amazing.

Instant relief. I have a shoulder injury and Dr. Hough was able to greatly reduce the pain in one treatment. He is extremely knowledgeable about the body and what it needs not to mention supplements. Dr. Hough is a miracle worker!! I had such severe pain in my neck and back for years due to a drunk driver accident and Dr. Hough was suggested to me by a friend. Being a first time chiropractic patient I was hesitant but Dr. Hough was kind and very patient and I felt he truly listened to my concerns. I am happy to report that I made it through that first initial appointment and my fears, and am now a regular patient with Dr. Hough. My pain is gone and I now have my full range of motion back!! He has placed me in a spinal stretching device that has greatly helped with my back pain. As a professional dance competitor, who is also training to become a fire fighter, it is safe to say that my body gets a lot of wear and tear. I have had many injuries over the years, including a car accident, and Dr. Hough has never failed to put me back together asap.

I had severe neck nerve pinch which caused a serious headache, faceache, toothaches, twisted muscles. I tried many chiropractors and physical therapists. While one of the physical therapists helped me tremendously, but I know something in my cervical was still having problems. One day I saw a YouTube that shows the Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic on "The Doctors", I decided to give it try.
