Bed Bugs, literally dozens of bites overnight when staying at the Dunes two nights ago.
The place is reasonably well appointed for being a low cost establishment, but bedbugs are not acceptable so I can’t recommend this place to anyone. I never really write reviews but this is so uncomfortable days later I feel I have to warn other people.

Clean, cozy room about a half hour's drive from the Great Sand Dunes National Park including a substantial breakfast at the cafe around the corner from the property and friendly staff

We chose to stay at the Dunes Inn because it is located near the town's only EV charging stations. The woman who checked us in was very helpful and friendly.

The rooms were showing their wear and could use an updating. A number of weird sounds woke us up during the night. The bathroom is in need of modernization.

The hotel does provide a voucher for breakfast at their restaurant...the food was barely edible, but that's a separate review.

Old!! Springy, noisy, uncomfortable beds. Terrible pillows and you only get 2 per bed. No water pressure in the shower & mold in places. Nothing was plugged in when we arrived (fridge, microwave, etc.) Small parking area that provides off road parking that it's pretty tucked away from traffic which is nice. Workers were friendly.
Office closes at 10pm.
Ice machine was unplugged/not working. Room did not have toilet paper when we arrived.
On the plus side the complimentary breakfast was tasty. The tv had Roku & all the steaming options available.

Fantastic! The owner was sweet and helpful - gave our room a second disinfectant spray when we confirmed our room, she was incredibly helpful and warm! The room itself is spacious, incredibly clean, and charming. Would definitely stay here again, good value for the money!

Not a bad hotel. I just wish the people would actually not smoke inside. We came in and there was a smell of cigarette inside. It wasn't that bad as the AC unit made it go away after an hour. Spent about $125 on a Thursday night.

I needed a room last week for a night and grabbed this place as it was one of the only remaining rooms within a 40 minute drive (what the heck was going on in town that I missed out on? haha). This location is pretty walkable to restaurants and convenience etc..

We checked in on Friday afternoon. The front desk agent was super friendly and welcoming. Check in took all of 3 minutes and I had my room key. The room was neat and clean. I was able to park right in front of the door for easy unloading. The room was nonsmoking but did have a lingering smoke smell like prior to the current nonsmoking

Friendly old school motor inn. Lovely rooms. Mine had a wood ceiling. Kind and friendly check in. Room had everything I needed. Found my stay very relaxing and felt safe. Short walk to Main Street shops. And free breakfast at the All Valley Cafe next door. Hole experience leaves you feeling like a local.

Fraudsters double charged me for a room and then refused to refund the second charge once approached by Expedia/Hotels.com customer service.

If you like to be greeted to your accommodations by a grumpy night manager and a shirtless crackhead, this is the place for you. If not, stay away.
