We came in from from North Myrtle after a week's day to check on some family land. We were thankful to get the only one we could find during the second week of September. However, they stay was not pleasant as our dust ruffle was filthy, the air conditioner was so loud and sounded like a semi truck was parked outside the door however I was thankful to have cool air, our sheets had two spots of blood on them I'm assuming, but not sure. The carpet was dirty, the TV change channels very slowly. The hotel really has a lot of potential as it is cute and very shaded with a play area for kids and a pool

This is the worst place, We drove over 3.5 hours with our family to here. When we got here it was after "check in time" the owner finally came down stairs to let us check in and was very rude to say the least I was filling out paperwork when she was making rude comments. I said don't worry this will be my 1st and last time staying here she says great then you won't stay here tonight I said yes ma'am I've already paid and I will be she said nope I'll refund your money have a great time mind you I was traveling with the one year old and a 13 year old 3.5 hours from home. By the way she did charge

Ok, so my sole reason for writing this review is because I keep seeing people say that this place was clean. In fact, it's what caused us to choose this location. However, we had a very different experience. Our room was filthy. Yes, the towels and washcloths were laundered and the sheets seemed to have been, but the bed skirt was not just dirty, but covered in mold. The shower drain was stopped up so bad we had to remove the pop-up plug and shut the water off while washing so we weren't standing in water. We didn't dare sit on the couch or chair in the room, as they were so badly stained. All

Owner is NOT child friendly. Witnessed owner yelling at customer's children twice at the pool, instead of confronting adults. Booked an entire week but left 2 days early when owner tried to do the same to my child who was playing by himself and not even making any noise. I do not recommend families staying here. We were very disappointed and had high hopes for this place despite the older accommodations it has a great location.

The room was clean, or so it appeared. Our room wreaked of cigarettes which immediately diminishes my want to stay anywhere. The manager/owner of as friendly enough and charming. This was absolutely no frills. You can hear everything through the walls though, and if you’re on the first floor, it sounds as if elephants are keeping you awake until 2a stomping around. Beds are definitely used, but we wouldn’t stay here again after that night of sleep/experience. Not all of it was at the fault of the owner so I can’t in good conscience give them a worse rating.

First, if you are looking for a bright, modern shiny chain type hotel, you better look elsewhere BUT, if you are looking for clean, maintained (albeit somewhat minimally) room for a couple or a small family where you can relax and enjoy a beach trip, check this place out.
My wife and I are normally picky when it comes to hotels and, largely due to it's age (we lived on the island for nearly 25 years but I first visited in 1964 and I am pretty sure it was here then) but this was a quick overnight for provisions (fresh, local seafood) and the price was acceptable so we tried it.

It was exactly what I paid for not to much and not to little. Pet friendly and the staff was great they respected my privacy the times I wanted fresh clean towels daily. Location was great only a 5 min walk to the beach and several restaurants and shops within a couple minutes of walking . The wife and I will 100% be back for sure thank you captains cove for a great anniversary weekend.
