If you are looking to free yourself from the inconvenience of glasses and/or contacts, you may be a LASIK candidate. LASIK is most effective for those with mild/moderate myopia, hyperopia and/or astigmatism along with adequate corneal thickness. Some patients might describe the feeling or sensation they experience during LASIK surgery as a slight pressure, but never pain. Numbing drops are applied prior to the start of the procedure, which further reduce any feeling in the eyes whatsoever. Plus, the doctor will administer a sedative to each patient before surgery in orderto help them relax.
PRK Surgery (photorefractive keratectomy) is the second most common laser eye procedure used to treat and correct vision problems including farsightedness (hyperopia), nearsightedness (myopia), and astigmatism. PRK is the predecessor to the popular LASIK procedure and is still commonly performed.
While recovery from PRK surgery takes longer than recovery from LASIK eye surgery, for some patients (those with thin corneas, for example) it does offer certain advantages over LASIK.The end results of PRK surgery are comparable to LASIK Surgery results, but initial PRK recovery is slower because a new epithelial layer takes time to grow back to cover the surface of the eye.

A cataract is a painless, progressive vision impairing clouding of your eye's natural internal lens. The lens is located behind the iris (colored part of your eye) and works much like a camera lens. As Cataracts develop, light becomes blocked from properly passing through the lens, which often causes blurred or fuzzy vision, and sometimes sensitivity to light.

On my first office visit with Dr. Vincent Restivo was 10/08/21. We discussed surgery for cataracts and maybe Lasik surgery. Dr. Restivo advised me that if I had questions about the procedure or insurance, I should contact Roland Leon. I spoke with Roland the next day and he was rude and was not helpful and rushed me off the phone. He did not answer my questions.

Roland Leon tone of voice sounded like he was annoyed, he was not friendly, he was not professional, he was not helpful and did not want to answer my

I had been going to Dr restivo for over six years . When I first went in, it was for a thorough exam for pressure etc. then, I came to realize that I needed to either wear glasses or contacts. Glasses were not for me as they distorted my balance. I went with contacts. The first couple of visits for the contacts was very difficult because we kept having to change them. There was never a pair that was absolutely correct. Although my vision tests showed 20/20, that simply means that you can stand 20 feet away from the chart and read it. It has nothing to do with anything further, lights distance

We had been informed that the office would help with our insurance claim (not that they would file it, but that they would help), but unfortunately the 'helpful' promises proved to be empty, as they were not forthcoming with the itemized receipt, which resulted in our $5,000+ claim to our insurance company.
To make matters worse, at our 1-year follow-up appointment, they were running about an hour behind schedule, but chose not to tell us that the morning of when we called to confirm the appointment. Upon arrival, we were told they were running 20-30 minutes behind. Why hadn't they

Recommended by my Optometrist , he spent 10 min with me. Didn't see some scars in my retina, which was the primary reason before doing a catarat surgery. I was surprised he din't see those, and started explaining me about the surgery....I had to tell him to double check my eyes and tell him that I had scars that need to be check. He refer me to an specialist..
After $140 and 2 hours wasted listening about surgery costs and payment plans, I decided to go with a different doctor. I wouldn't recommend him.
Very Disappointed about his practice.

Dr Restivo was recommended by my regular optometrist to remove a cataract that was causing my eyeglasses prescription to change rapidly....blurry vision really bugging me. Their practice of five optometrists uses only Dr Restivo for laser surgery needs. He is THAT good. Dr R removed my cataract and implanted a lens. It was amazing. Like HD vision right away. I will get the other eye done next month. Dr Restivo's office is a model of warmth and efficiency. He is verrrry particular about everything, just as you want all your doctors! His staff is the absolute best I've
