Residential gutters that haven't been cleaned tend to be full of leaves and debris. This debris causes rain waterto back up and flow over the edge of the gutters causing foundation damage, siding damage. Standing rain water also causes sagging and rotting of your gutters. Sullivan Chimney Sweep offers services that may cost a little over the short term but will save you hundreds or thousands over the long term.
Lint and debris can build up in your dryer duct causing your clothes dryer to have less than optimum exhaust efficiency. This creates potentially hazardous conditions including carbon monoxide intrusion and the possibility for fires. If a gas dryer is improperly vented or the exhaust duct itself is blocked by lint or debris, carbon monoxide can be forced back into your home.
When you burn wood in a fireplace some of the gases escape from the unburned wood and these unburned gases build up a solid residue inside the chimney. If this residue gets thick enough and hot enough, it can ignite, and the resulting "chimney fire" will burn very fast and hot. This chimney fire can become hot enough to destroy the inside of the chimney and even set the house or roof on fire.
Wherever you burn wood (fireplace or wood burning stove, etc.), it creates a form of gases or small particles called pollutants. The gases are expelled from the burning wood with the smoke. When the gases cool to a temperature that is below 250 F, they will begin to liquefy, combine and condense. Once they combine and condense creosote is created.
Most homeowners not aware that an annual professional chimney inspection and cleaning is important to ensure the safe operation of their fireplace, despite the fact if the fireplace is barely used. Hiring a knowledgeable and experienced chimney sweep is not always an easy task. To help you out with this process here are some questions that you can ask to ensure that you are receiving the best quality of services.

Luke was fantastic overall - would definitely recommend him for any chimney needs. We recently purchased a home with several gas and wood fireplaces and wanted them all checked out and get some cleaned. We also needed a cap added to an outdoor fireplace- Luke said it was outside of his scope (always appreciate when someone is honest!) and recommended another company who was great to work with as well for the work.

After the cold snap of the century in Texas and me being afraid to use our gas fireplace without it being inspected , cleaned and tested and hunting for someone who was not to rip us off. I finally found Luke with Sullivan Chimney Sweep. This man was so thorough, helpful and kind. He performed everything mentioned above and didn't leave my home until he made sure I knew what all he did explained everything and showed us how to light, and manage the fireplace while sharing do's and don'ts with me about safety and to make sure visitors do not be the ones to operate our fireplace. Mr. Sullivan did an excellent job cleaning the chimney and repairing inside the firebox. On time, efficient, and excellent up front pricing. We would definitely hire him again, and certainly recommend him to friends and neighbors.

Luke (of Sullivan Chimney Sweep) is a throwback and exceptional at his craft.
This morning I left him a message with a description of my house and the requested service. And although he had an inkling the specification and build of my house would require someone else, Luke still called me back and spent approx 40 min of his time i) explaining the components of my chimney-roof system, ii) troubleshooting the likely issue, iii) describing the type of vendor I'd likely need to prospect for, iv) making a referral to a competitive vendor who may be a likely match for what I need.

Incredibly happy with Luke at Sullivan Chimney Sweep! Having never had a home with a fireplace before, he walked me through everything over the phone and was very detailed. He did not try to up-sell us on anything. When he arrived, he took all Covid precautions, was very friendly, detailed and gave my husband chimney 101 lessons to set us off on the right foot moving forward. He's very reasonably priced, professional and fantastic to work with. He will be our go-to contact in the future!

Very nice guy, I sent him pictures of my chimney, he explained what was wrong and gave several options to fix it. Basically it needed the crown to be rebuilt and a rain cap installed. His prices were much better, than all the other places I called. Also the others just told me what price and what they were going to do. He told me why and how. Which for me is important. My chimney was 71 inches long so it required custom cap. Which he had made very quickly. Today he installed it. And it looks very nice.

Too many positive things to say about Luke (Sullivan Chimney Sweep) and his work ethic! I contacted Luke after being quoted an outrageous amount from a competitor. Luke came to my home free of charge and provided great feedback on what actually needed to be repaired. (The other competitor quoted for additional work that was not needed.) Luke was very flexible and able to work with my busy schedule during uncertain times at work (healthcare worker.) He provided step by step details on how and when he would be repairing the chimney (inside and out.) Always providing details on what he was doing

My experience was great. Luke inspected my chimney and instead of selling me something I didn't need, he was honest about its condition. Since it did not need to be cleaned, I was only charged for half a service call. Luke took the time to explain the function of my chimney and gave me advice on what to look out for to keep it in order. Very friendly and informative. I will use him next time.

This was one of the best experiences that I have ever experienced with working with a contractor for something on my home. Luke was prompt with his responses, gave great information on what needed to be done with options. He promised when he gave me the quote for the work that it would be exactly what he would charge. No extra later because of this, no 'Well I found this that needs to be done too', and you know what? He was as good as his word and for the quality of the work and the experience working with him, we feel that it was a lot less that it should have been. A++ grade from start to finish

I requested my appointment online. It was easy. Luke was very honest and kind over the phone and was the same in person. The reason I called him was I found cracks in my firebox floor area as well as a couple of feet up the way. I was worried about catching my house on fire. Safety first! Luke came out and did an inspection and said the cracks were small and repairable. He suggested I burn 2 creosote logs so as to prep the chimney for cleaning. He said is was safe enough to burn them. He came back 2 weeks later and swept my chimney as well as repaired the cracks. His price was extremely fair I

I called Sullivan Chimney Sweep. I got a good vibe after speaking with Luke. I wanted my chimney inspected, cleaned, repaired and my dryer vent cleaned as well. They came out and did all that. Steve and Luke were great. Said my chimney/fireplace wasn’t in as bad shape as I thought. They made some repairs and got everything done in about 2 hours. The price was very reasonable. These 2 guys are great people and aren’t out to screw you over. They only did what was necessary and didn’t try to up sell me. They also cleaned everything up after they were finished. My wife says the dryer drys clothes
