Dickelman Childcare Service, Inc. opened in the fall of 2013. Since then, we have cared for several children ranging in ages 6 weeks to 10 years old. Kids that come here don't feel like they are just getting left at daycare but rather their second home. At the end of day kids just don't want to leave.
Parents will feel confident that they have found a fun, safe and loving place for their kids while they have to be at work. We provide a place where kids can learn through play. We play outside as long as weather permits and we field trip often to a variety of places. Here at Dickelman Childcare Service we believe childhood is a unique and valuable stage of development and each child is a unique individual.

Services
My son went to DCSI for 2 years, ages 2 to 4. Prior to DCSI, I had struggled to find a good fit for him. We had gone to a couple of centers and they were too big and unfamiliar and a small in home that wasn't quite big enough. DCSI is a perfect combination of center and in-home. It is run as an in home by Savannah and Heath, but has many advantages of a center.
Everyday is a new adventure! At DCSI the children pave the way through our child led program. Children want to paint so we paint. When kids are dropping everything to run over to the window because someone spotted a bird eating the food they left for them. Well, then that day or week might turn in to all about birds and everything we can learn about them.

This daycare may be more suitable for older children or if you never ask questions about your child's care. The house is nice and it seems clean, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of professionalism here or communication. My baby would be overfed because he would cry (babies like to be held/played with and I don't think there was enough time or adults in the home to do this). I asked her not to overfeed multiple times (we are following recommendations of our pediatrician). She would always be VERY defensive when we asked questions or gave requests like this. We love DCSI! My son went as a 2 year old for a temporary spot and as soon as they had another opening this year we hurried back right away!
My son absolutely adores daycare and Savannah! We have a difficult time leaving every day!
My son has seriously blossomed with learning this year, he’s learned how to write, count, identify letters and numbers. The progress has been astounding.
Beyond that, you can tell that the house is filled with love. I’ve never had any concerns about leaving him there. I know he’s safe and well taken care of.

We struggled with other childcare providers for almost two years before finding an excellent "second home" for our toddler at DCSI. The environment here is extremely warm, loving, and child-focused, and our child consistently looks forward to her fun days with Savannah and her friends. Highly recommended, if you are lucky enough to get a spot!

We love DCSI! They are all about taking care of children and working with families that have crazy work schedules. Our children have grown and learned so much by being at DCSI. I trust them with my children everyday. My kids never want to leave when I pick them up. So many fun activites, toys and learning goes on at DCSI. Thank you Dickelman's !
