I was raised in Ventura County and was fortunate to complete my training at the Ventura County Medical Center's Family Practice Residency Program, affiliated with the UCLA School of Medicine.

Services
Dr. Stelman personally sees you at every routine visit - no rotating among multiple less familiar doctors, physician assistants, or nurse practitioners. Fewer patients means more attention to and familiarity with you and your personal preferences. We encourage you to bring your your spouse, children, parents, or caregivers to your visit.
We accept most health insurance, including traditional Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and both HMO and PPO plans. HMO managed care patients are welcome to choose Dr. Stelman as their required Primary Care Provider from the list of contracted Seaview Independent Physician Association members. We also take Covered California and individual off-exchange plans.
New patients are welcome to call our office to request an appointment. Our brief new patient forms are available to pick up in our office, by mail, or on the internet from our patient portal where they may be submitted online or printed and completed by hand.
Please arrive 15-30 minutes early to process your new patient paperwork even if you submitted it online, and to allow for the short walk from ample street parking behind the office in case the lot is full, as it is shared by many other busy medical practices along the Loma Vista corridor.

The front receptionist giving attitude when I didn't have a hard copy of my insurance card, didn't appreciate me matching her attitude. As the MA brings me back the MA turns around and I hear her tells the receptionist "oh she's going to be one do those..." and I couldn't hear the rest. When waiting I could hear the doctor attending to the patient next door and he had a genuine and positive attitude with him but when he entered the room with me totally different attitude. Pompous and like I was wasting his time. I came in for multiple issues and he had me pick which

Dr. Stelman has been my family's primary physician for 10-15 years now. We are more than pleased. He always explains, in simple terms, the conditions surrounding any medical concerns we bring him. He is extremely thorough in his research to identify underlying problems. His humble and sincere message he gave us regarding a complicated diagnosis was unexpected, but reassuring. Knowing what we were up against, he immediately guided us down the right path and in communications with the right specialists. He and his staff have always been there for us. We consider them our medical family.:)

This has hands down been the worst practice I've been to ever. First, the office is old and dingy and dirty. I will post photos. They only take cash - no FSA cards, no credit cards. If you forget cash they'll make you go to the liquor store next door to get cash and will NOT bill you $25. Odd! Next, the office looks like a hoarder lives there- it's cluttered. They have OLD equipment and take blood pressure and heart rate the old fashion way. Then there is Dr Stelman. He's arrogant and condescending. He will only talk to you about 1-2 issues per visit and anything above

I started seeing Dr Stelman when my prior physician, Dr Richardson, retired. He spends as much time with me as needed, discusses the treatment options, and makes sure I am up to date on all necessary exams/shots. I like him so much that 2 other family members now see him. The office staff has always been gracious and accommodating and very personable. Highly recommend

Dr. Stelman hands down is the best family doctor out there for figuring out what i wrong right there -I have a lump on my arm by me elbow for 3 days. sunday my wife said go to emergency it hurts and make sure what it is . i went to emergency and the doctor did an ultra sound and said it wa a hard lump need am MRI . so Monday i went to Dr stelman to check .. He aid it is a oft mass not a hard one but to make sure he wanted to take a needle to pull some fluid out which he thought he would find, or if it is a worse problem nothing with go into the needle. once again he was right some brown fluid

I like Dr. Stelman, he is very thorough and takes his time with you. However, I do find it very inconvenient that they only take cash or check. In this day and age, who doesn't accept credit cards? While most businesses are adopting new technology and even people at the SWAP MEET take credit cards, Dr. Stelman's office refuses to take anything but cash or check. I have a flexible spending account through my insurance and pay for all my medical expenses with my Flex card.
Anytime I have to see Dr. Stelman, I have to go to the ATM, get cash and then submit a claim with my insurance

My Doctor had retired and all of his files/patience were sent to Dr. Stelman, so I did not hand pick him. It is very hard to find a good Doctor who is accepting new patience so I decided to stick with Dr. Stelman for myself and my kids.
He is a very, very rude person with a horrible bed side manner. Whatever you do, do not expect him to give you a call back with any type of results, in his words and a very rude and demeaning tone he will let you know that he has hundreds of patience and that you are only one person and if he had to call his patience back he wouldn't have the time to being seeing

This doctor took over for dr puls when he retired. I have never been treated so badly in my life. the wife that runs the office is rude and unprofessional. told me that I had a PPO and could go anywhere else. so I did. I won't go in to the horrible conversation but believe you me primary medical group has respect and kindness for their patients ......one star is way too much

I had my first visit with Dr. Stelman today, and I had a great experience. I was running behind, and they still managed to squeeze me in to their busy day (though I don't encourage any of you to follow my bad example) His staff was efficient and kind, and I feel that I was treated with great respect. Dr. Stelman was very thorough and kind. I appreciated his directness and openness to my thoughts as far as his recommended treatments. I am happy to find a new doctor out here considering a that I am a new transplant to California. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.
