Five star all the way. I took a taxi because I had an appointment about 20 miles away that I absolutely had to be to on time. I booked a few days ahead. Early in the morning on the day of the ride, Merit Taxi sent me a message about the driver and cab that would pick me up. The driver, Gene, arrived sever minutes early. He was courteous, kind and an excellent driver. It was a very pleasant experience. I will use this service whenever I need a ride again.

There is no one else I'll call for a trip to SFO! Helpful drivers who arrive early every time, help with bags, and drive large cars with plenty of luggage space are worth their weight in gold. Drivers are professional and courteous. The cars are spotless and Merit is always a great start to any trip! The price is reasonable, too!

"Demerit Taxi" is clueless. Could't find my house in Redwood City. Claimed they'd be there in 15 minutes. Half an hour later, called for more info. Called again. Dispatcher seemed to have forgotten the info they took the first time. Wanted me to call some other phone number. I told them to get lost.

I absolutely love Merit Taxi! This company always provides me with the best customer service. The drivers are always so courteous and polite whether I myself am traveling or if it's for my 80 year old grandmother who likes to do errands in the taxi, and they always carry her groceries in for her. Awesome. I lost my phone earlier today right before an international flight. Called Merit Taxi from Skype, gave them my address and told them there is no call back number, I'm alone at home and I lost my cellphone earlier. No problem they said, and sent my cab. The driver arrived even before the time I asked for.
Both the driver (Jack) and the lady on the phone (Shannon I believe) were super nice.

Merit taxi — Merit taxi used to be my best service hands down. Now it’s a mess. I had a broken shoulder, and the driver refused to even open the door for me. He was having a bad arthritis day. I have arthritis too. But if I couldn’t do the job, I work on the phones.
It was also very dark....he spent the entire time talking about having to sleep in his relative’s garage, etc, we all have STUFF, I don’t need to hear about his.
Then he got lost, in an age GPS, how does any taxi driver get lost.
They take credit cards, but he couldn’t work the Apple app.i asked him to call his supervisor

Best taxi company ever. After Five Star failed to show up for a scheduled pickup, I called Merit Taxi, and they sent a driver named Mike. WOW. What a pleasure to be picked up by a smart, courteous and great driver to boot. He got us around all of the bad traffic to SFO, and did it with ease. Do not hesitate to call Merit Taxi, and be sure to ask for MIKE!

I just used Merit Taxi this weekend, about the millionth time I've used them to go from San mateo to SFO in the past 10 years. Once again, they were great! They arrived 5-10 minutes early, as usual, patiently waited for me, and were very helpful with my luggage. I've both ordered cabs online and called when I needed one. Very easy both ways. It's nice to have this cab company to rely on! Would highly recommend.

We used Merit Taxi Cab of San Mateo for a 5:30 am ride to the airport. Booking in advance was very easy with just an email. The driver was slightly late (less than 5 minutes) because he had trouble finding the correct pickup location, but the addresses are rather confusing around my apartment building, and the driver was very apologetic about being late and very friendly. Overall, it was a great experience, especially compared to other companies where I've had great difficulties finding the driver and been greatly overcharged.

Apparently Merit Taxi was sold and you don't want the new version.
As I have for years, I called Merit from SFO for a pickup so we didn't have to deal with the rude and dangerous drivers at the taxi stand. An Allied taxi showed up claiming they were the same company as Merit now, for about 6 months. This guy was the dangerous driver we tried to avoid. On 101, he tailgated cars and recklessly darted between them, then he RAN A RED LIGHT on Ralston at El Camino. It wasn't close. The light was red long before he reached the intersection. Then he missed the turn his navigation

I needed a ride for my family of 4 during rush hour from SFO to Portola Valley. I was a little uneasy since I was use to scheduling things online rather than over the phone. I called a day before we needed service without a problem.
Our driver was prompt, and courteous and the mini van was in great condition. The driver was mostly quiet but did answered any of our questions. Prices were reasonable and cheaper than other services like Uber. They did require cash which was completely fine just as long as I was aware. I will absolutely use Merit Taxi again.

I took a ride, paid with a credit card and then they called me the next day saying that my card was declined. I could not understand why my card would be declined but provided them another card. I called my bank and they said that the original card was not declined at all. Indeed, I got charged $100.30 from MERIT TAXI BELMONT CA. Then few days later, I found out that the other card got charged for the exact same amount $100.30 from TAXI BELMONT CA. So strange, same day, similar name, exact same amount with the cents, same location.
I called them and they asked me to provide both statements by fax
