Services
We heal issues that motivate problematic behaviors, helping our clients thrive toward independence. At Serene Behavioral Health, we provide a transitional residential treatment program for men and women 18 years and older who meet our admission criteria of having either one diagnosis from the Diagnostic Statistical Manual 5, or who have received a diagnosis of co-occurring disorders with primary psychiatric issues.
Changes in mood that disrupt daily life may indicate a disorder such as depression. Mood disorders are a common psychological problem among American adults, and may involve losing interest in previously enjoyable activities, constant sadness, or having thoughts about self-harm. People with severe mood disorders such as depression often struggle to get out of bed or take care of basic hygiene needs.
Everyone feels sad from time to time, but if your mood remains low for months, you may be suffering from depression. Depression is defined as persistent sadness, hopelessness, and anhedonia: a loss of interest in activities you once loved. In addition to these psychological struggles, people with depressive disorders may also experience physical symptoms.
Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition that causes a person to fluctuate between periods of depression and mania. Each mood may last for months at a time, and will impact your ability to function, think clearly, or maintain your energy levels. You may go weeks without symptoms, only to have them return in earnest, turning your world upside-down.
If you're struggling to cope after a tragedy, you're not alone. Trauma can take many forms, and if left unaddressed, it can develop into a complex mental disorder: post-traumatic stress disorder. PTSD is a serious condition that requires clinically advanced care. If you need support during a vulnerable time, Serene Behavioral Health can help.
