Services
Maryvale is Los Angeles' oldest children's charity and one of San Gabriel Valley's most trusted and longest-running providers of services for the underserved. We have been committed to serving the needs of children and families since 1856.
We provide early education and after-school programming, mental health and wrap-around services, community education, short-term transitional housing for various populations in need, and will soon offer outpatient substance abuse treatment for children and teens.Regardless of adversity, beliefs, or background, Maryvale is dedicated to serving all in need, providing each child or family with hope and a chance to attain a more fulfilling life.

With the help of our Board of Directors and a Strategic Planning Committee, we have developed a three-year strategic plan that will enable Maryvale to serve more people with additional programs and services. As Los Angeles' longest-running charity dedicated to serving children and families in need, our new programs will further cement our role as one of the region's most trusted providers of service for the underserved.
As a Catholic organization, Maryvale's Early Education Program embraces Christian values. Compassionate teachings incorporated into our classroom environment serve as building blocks that help children develop a healthy and positive life. Maryvale's Rosemead Early Education Center was established in 1968.
The Rosemead Early Education Services Center is home to five infant/toddler classrooms and four preschool classrooms. The Rosemead campus is licensed by Community Care Licensing, a state agency through the Department of Social Services, to care for children from birth through twelve years of age.
In conjunction with the USDA and the California Department of Education Nutrition Services Department, Maryvale participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program.Meals are planned in accordance with the appropriate meal pattern for your child's age group. The meals provided, including breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack, are varied and nourishing and included in the cost of tuition.

Maryvale provides developmentally appropriate activities and interactions that allow children to grow socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, and linguistically at their own pace.
Our interactions with children are guided by the concept that children who are consistently exposed to developmentally appropriate and healthy social, emotional, and physical learning opportunities early in life will be infused with the skills and confidence necessary to be successful in school and into their adult years.

A. Fredericks - I lived there from the summer of my 3rd grade until my senior year of high school. This was my home and I saw many girls come and go. I lived here the longest of all attending. 1950's to 1970's so this is a very long time. I loved Coyote the big German shepherd dog that love chasing the cars as they entered. I have so many great memories and I had so many good friends.

Maryvale was my home for many years, the 50's thru 1970. I am forever grateful to many Sisters and staff that gave their all to help make Maryvale our home. They had a lot to handle and they did ! Can't imagine what life would have been like without Maryvale, living on the streets.
I'll never forget Sister Gabriella from Seton Cottage and of course Sister Linda Ann, Ms. Kay and the many girls. Thank you Maryvale from the bottom of my heart,❤️

I love Maryvale and all it stands for. Providing residential treatment for girls who have been thru very rough experiences and cannot be with their birth families. I have a (nrefm) niece/daughter there and am grateful daily such a place exists. They are very caring and fair. It can be rough to not have regular contact with your child, but when the circumstances exist this is a place to be so happy to know of.

I was a foster child here at Maryvale and I had the worst experience ever! One time I was sleeping and the male director Will walked in my room telling me I had to wake up and now the overnight staff would put the heater on blast and I had asthma and would ask them to lower it and so I would sleep half naked and he walked in my room without asking permission when clearly male staff weren’t allowed in he girls room.
And another experience I had was that a staff grad me hard from the arm and pulled me out of the office just because I went in to grab a bottle water.
This place abuses kids that

Not happy with this place because of the bad things my daughter has learned here. Always waiting past my time, appointments never start at the time they are scheduled. Put onions in everything no options for any other food. Daughter is always hungry. The staff lets parents hear all about their crisis. Too much profanity. More like a prison then a group home.
